Review # 44 for Eagtile
Them's Fightin' Words
This appears to be a futurama fan game. If you like futurama, you may enjoy the character cutscenes, the tubes that suck you from one place in the city to another, and all of the familiar characters from the show. A futurama fan game is an interesting basis, but this game needs needs more before it will become successful.

You start out as Fry and have to go to work. You meet Bender and Leela who join you. From there, you are told to recover a package that has been stolen by a yellow circle. After searching the town you find the yellow circle (Fry was already dead from enemies who did half his HP with a normal attack, and I couldn't find a way to revive him) who tells you that if you kill his evil twin, the blue circle, he will give you the package! So you kill the evil twin and that's the end of the demo.

Things to work on: -The battle are are either disgustingly easy or impossibly hard. If you are going to have hard battles in your game, at least include some healing items. -Don't make pointless maps. The first building was full of empty rooms. That was very annoying. More detail would make this game much better. -The plot should be more creative. Evil circles are uncreative and, unfortunately, overused plot devices. -Aside from the cutscenes (which are great), the graphics are very bland. Add texturing and shading to the maptiles and try to make the walkabouts and hero graphics look as good as the cutscenes. -More than one musical track (taken from the engine) would be nice.
Final Scores
Graphics: 4/10.0
The cutscenes are excellent, but the maptiles, battle graphics, and walkabouts leave much to be desired.
Storyline: 3/10.0
Although a futurama fan game is good basis, and may appeal to fans of the show, the storyline should be further developed through interesting dialogue and perhaps an intro. One text box introductions to characters are disappointing.
Gameplay: 3.5/10.0
The battles were too easy or too hard. A way to heal the characters would be appreciated. Add more NPCs and detail.
Music: 2/10.0
Only one track? The OHRRPGCE has more capabilities than this, use them!
Overall Grade: D-
Final Thoughts
The basis is fine, but I need to see a lot done before I'll enjoy this game. If you're a futurama fan with some spare time, go ahead and download it but the creator should do a lot of work before the next release.
