Them's Fightin' Words
    I came into this game expecting a short and bad experience. The kind of shit I make. I was wrong. These guys put some real heart into it, and even though it wasn't the best game ever, you could tell that they were really trying. Let this be a lesson guys, don't go into a review with preconceptions. I almost gave up at the 5 minute mark, but endured and found more than I even hoped for.

Graphics
    They're a little bit better than the average newbie game. While they aren't very sophisticated, and have lots of jaggy lines, there's some really nice touches. The character I chose's eyes turned to face the enemy when he moved in, and his moving animation was pretty funny.

The maptiles make it a little hard to tell the floor from the walls at times, but once you realize what everything is, it's acceptable.

The hero graphics had personality, and the female NPCs were pretty attractive.

 
Storyline
    The story mostly revolves around two days in the lives 4 school kids, and it's a bit hard to follow at times, because the grammar isn't the best. They're chased by teachers, fight kids, smuggle Joey Guns (Which I think are like BB Guns), general kids stuff, and there's a kind of charm to it all that reminds me nostalgically of my school days.

I wish more of the kids in the school yard said something interesting though. There's lots of "...'s" "Piss off's" and "Hi's".

 
Gameplay
    This is where I've got to take off points. I'm not sure that everyone could've stuck it out with this game like I did. A lot of times your goals are rather ill defined, leaving you to wander. At one point you're told that holding down X will allow you to run, but I'm not sure if you can do this before. If so, it'd save you some real time walking around, because the maps are big (Almost too big). There were a few glitchy doors at the beginning too, which made things a little hard. After a certain point, they start to explain your goals, and give you better directions, and at that point, the game hits it's stride.

 
  Battle
    They made the typical newbie mistakes. The battles are mostly hold down the enter key and heal occasionally, but I have to give them credit for a wide variety of monsters. Most of the special attacks aren't very useful as compared to the regular attacks. I lost 3 of the 4 people in my party in the first major boss fight, but didn't have many problems fighting the enemies after then, I just had to pay much more attention to healing. There's no way to revive dead heroes, which is frustrating, and it would make a good addition for a later version. You can run from most battles without consequence.

 
  Map Design
    The maps are a little too big for my tastes, and there's a few points where it's hard to tell what something is, and your only choice is to try stepping on it. Once you figure out where things are, and what they want from you, it's alright.

 
  Balance
    There's one battle that killed 3 of my people, which was a little hard, and the rest of the game was fairly easy, except for the "evade the teacher" levels, which are a little bit difficult, especially when you don't know 100% where you're running to. It reminds me a little of the Sasquatch that attacked you if you Skiied too far in Skifree. Once you see 'em, they're pretty hard to avoid.

 
Music
    I was listening to the stereo at the time, and can't really judge this.

 
Enjoyment
    I'm kind of a weird lad, but I enjoyed it. I could tell that they were putting forth an effort, and weren't just trying to make a stupid game, and that gave me the kind of patience I needed to sit around and figure out what they were telling me to do. It's kind of like a baby. Sure, it vomits, and poops, and cries incessantly, but it can be a rather rewarding experience when you figure out what he wants, and it smiles at you.

 
Final Blows
    It's not really Shakespeare, but it's a good time if you're willing to give it a chance. There's some funny moments, and there's only a few moments when I completely felt like giving up, but the solution to the problem was rather easy once I figured it out. At times I kind of felt like I was missing out on some inside jokes, but most of it's pretty universal.

Graphics: 6/10.0
Above average, for a newbie game. Won't win any awards, but it gets the job done.
Storyline: 5.5/10.0
A little bit hard to follow, and at times kind of juvenile, but I think it's enough to base a game on.
Gameplay: 4/10.0
There's a lot of sitting with your finger on the enter key, and some fun chases. I kind of wanted to see what happens next.
Music: 10/10.0
Didn't judge, listened to the stereo. My stereo's awesome.
Enjoyment: 7.5/10.0
What can I say, I liked it. You might disagree, but I enjoyed it, and I'd like to talk to the guys who made it.
Overall Grade: C+
Final Thoughts
    It's worth a shot, guys. It's not the best game of all time, but they put some work into it, and it shows.
