Review # 1 for SDHawk
Them's Fightin' Words
The King's Basement 2 is my 48hr entry, it ranked 5th place. This game is a bit diffrent from the majority of OHRRPGCE games in that it's entirley text-based, and is slightly non-linear with four endings.
Graphics
The game is text-based, hence this can't be scored since there are no graphics.
Storyline
It's decent enough, building on it's predecesor's extremley cliche plot and moulding it into something intresting. However, not all of it is there because of time restrictions the dream portion of the game had to be left out, destroying alot of story explanation of just who you are. Although, I did include a text file with it should someone get curious, but it just dosen't have the same as effect as it could have. Not to mention most people won't read it.
Gameplay
Boring, but mericfully fast battles. The meat of the game, the text portion, dosen't have an extremley large amount of interactivity in it but just enough to squeek by as a game.
  Battle
The game features around 3 or 4 battles. They are your usual ohr button mashing fests, only you don't even seen the enemy or yourself. Not to mention some of the weapons are bugged.
  Map Design
    There are no maps.
  Balance
All the battles are extremley easy with little to no chance of defeat, with the exception of one which can't even be accessed due to a bug.
Music
It has two songs that I dug up in the last hour or so. They are original, but due to midi2bam not converting to the proper tempo and me not having enough time to fix it they are a bit too fast, rather ruining the mood. They fit well enough, most the time and dont' sound too bad.
Enjoyment
It's short, it has numerous bugs, the music is too fast, the battles atrocious and partially buggy...and yet despite all these flaws, the meat of the game, the text, manages to carry it through to intrest the player enough to finish the short game (either that, or the lack of an exit button...)
Final Blows
Despite it's numerous flaws, it is somewhat enjoyable to sit back and read it. For 48hrs, it's not too shabby.

Final Scores
Graphics: 1/10.0
There are no graphics, and the font and text boxes are all the OHR default. The gradient battle background is some crappy PsP thing, which is absolutley horrible. I honestly can't give myself any points here.
Storyline: 7.5/10.0
Manages to create something intresting from the ashes of a dry and cliche predecesor, and considring it's nothing but text it's good enough to drive the entire game for the duration of play. Knocking it down .5 points is the spelling/grammar errors.
Gameplay: 2/10.0
It barely even qualifys as a game. Even for a text based game, it could have done far better. Not to mention the numerous bugs, even one that breaks the best ending in the game.
Music: 6.5/10.0
Original, and fitting most the time...but way too fast. Plus there's only two songs. Considring one is the battle theme and the other is everywhere else, this means one song the entire game allmost. That song could have worked at the proper tempo, but at this speed it gets old fast.
Enjoyment: 7.5/10.0
In spite of all it's flaws, it's still decently entertaining to play once through.
Overall Grade: C+
Final Thoughts
I honestly didn't expect this to get any votes and allmost didn't release it. But, I guess some people like this kind of game and gave it far more votes than I expected.

With the bugs fixed, the battles tweaked, the dreams inserted, and the music fixed this could turn in to a game well-worth spending some time with. But as it is, it's only a shadow of what it could be.
