It should be easy to write a script that makes an npc (your weapon pop up, and slice at a monster. The, a littl while later the monster respawns, and you can kill it again while you talk with friends. That sounds like a dream come true, but how do you make the OHR game an online one? _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

LeRoy, they're not doing it with the OHR. They're doing it with another language, probably C++ or the like. MySQL will probably fall in with that. _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek

Alright.
MadHatter, Hunter Green, Minnek, Leoroy Leo. All of you have requested to help, so I'm asking, what do you want to do for the project? And lord help me, I'll gut any of you that says that you'll help with "ideas". MadHatter, Leoroy, could you both post a sample of your best graphics? And Minnek, do you have any examples of projects you've programed before? |

You can gut me if you'd like, not sure exactly what that'd do besides relieve some stress... anyway, I've done a lot in the way of C++, including databases and working with classes and friends and inheritance and such. I'm going to run through my books again to bring myself back up to top level. I'm not really sure what examples would be looked for, so if you could be more specific about that, I'm sure I could detail one or two. I've only scratched the surface of using sockets and other internet-apt things in C++, but I can sure as heck do research and find out about it. _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek

Well of Souls is fully skinable. I was using a skin that I just threw together in that shot. |

Here's some of my best examples of CG work:
Some OHR sprites at 300%. Most of these have full walkabout sets, but I couldn't post them all lest there be a very huge image in its place.
A pic of a monster.
Miscellaneous things. Everything in it, except the spaceship, was going to be used for the RPG toolkits, but i don't use them anymore. The ship was for Inner Space. These are at least a year and a half old, but I'm particularly proud of them, although the ship needs more detail.
Some OHR tiles at 200%.
A fairly large pic of a map. It looks a little smudged because it's a jpg. I also used the cheesy lens refraction : P

Easy. First, put your image somewhere on the net that allows you to upload images from it. Next, hit the "image" button, type in the URL of the site with the name of the picture at the end of it, and press the "image" button again. Tripod and Geocities doesn't let you do this, but 1asp host does, so try that if need be.

Heh, that ship reminds me of the art style of old Apogee games. Nice. |

Thanks all, but I can't take full credit for them. The sprites were actually based on two of Fenrir's sprites that I tweaked to suit my own style Hopefully the similarity isn't apparent. However, the hair shapes, various accessories, most of the body outline and colour schemes were all original, and everything in the tiles are 100% original, I made the tiles myself from scratch. |

Yeah, they kinda copied from Fen's graphics, but they are good, just not... sensational. |
