Does anyone know if there is a way to increase the speed that a BAM plays during the game? If there is a way, I would assume that it would deal with programming, but, regardless, if you know a way to do this, please let me know!
Thanks,

i don't think there is a way...
it might be possible to change the tempo, but i seriously doubt it. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

You'd probably have to make two versions of the BAM (one speeded up. God only knows how you can speed up a BAM on the crappy choice of BAM software out there.
[rant] I make a decent chase sequence midi at a nice slow tempo and convert it. What happens? The music plays painfully slow, it deletes two of the instrument tracks completely and I'm left with something that wouldn't even pass as a waltz[/rant]
sorry, got carried away there. _________________

Junahu is right. What you have to do is export the BAM as a MIDI (use Stephanie's PC Piano to do this) and open it in a MIDI-editing or composing program (Noteworthy, Finale, etc.) and raise the tempo. Then save, and make a new BAM out of it. Of course, if you want it to speed up at a certain time (like after the player has passed a certain textbox), you're likely out of luck there. :\ _________________

Aye, I've been wanting to suggest plotscript commands that return the current position in the current music file, pause but not stop, etc, but first I want to wait for James to reply to an email. You go ahead.
I have a feeling that changing the tempo of bam files is an impossible suggestion to the OHR though.. (along with most of mine) _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
