Ok. I know this artwork is already in the FAN ART contest forum, but I would like to get critisism and comments here instead of crowding up that page (As that is only for submitting art, not really C&C posts)...
So here it is:
Dukanami (Winterfold:Revenge of the Samurai)
What do you think? Its one of my first... take that into consideration before you pummel me... _________________

I like the shading on the hands, but the feet look a little boxy, and the sword isn't at all like a samurai's. |

Setu: Just click the image... It'll get bigger alright.
The picture: This looks like you put quite a bit of time in it, and you definitely got skills.
I suggest taking the part of the picture that doesn't have the person in it and cutting it out. It attracts too much attention away from the main piece, if you know what I mean.
As for the sword, it has pretty good dimentions at least (it's Cymetric). Although, to make it a katana (or what ever) simply make one end flat, and the other rounded to the point, but narrow. If you can't see what I mean, it's because I have failed to describe it... Sorry in advance. *trips and falls on face* _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I think thats what a katana looks like.
EDIT: Critiques!
I am probably gonna go WAAAAY more in detail than you need to make a good picture. I just critique like that. The drawing looks good, and I mention minor things.
-The head needs to be larger, like Setu said, moreso height-wise.
-His thumbs ought to show, if even slightly, around the sword.
-Nice shading, but you forgot the left hand's(HIS) shadow.
-Shoes are kind of squarey, jus take out the inside lines and it should be OK.
-On his pants...
--Make some more defined cloth wrinkles. Generally the main points of wrinkles are:
---The knees
---The crotch
---Right under the bulging part of the calf muscle(Your upper-lower-leg)
--Have the pants sort of hang down a little on the raised leg. You kind of have an indent there, which is gravitally(that a word??) impossible.
--Make some more defined wrinkles in his shirt. The main points on the upper body are:
---The shoulders
---The elbows _________________ I got it all...most. |
