I don't know if there's already an existing thread..
Now, what, in your opinion is the best location ever in an RPG? Your decision could be based on the location's graphics, music, gameplay changes, etc..... It could be a dungeon or a town.
Mine would be Gold Saucer from FF7. There are so many things to do...

Oh, I forgot.
I also love FF8's last dungeon. You can go straight to the final boss anytime you want. Well done, Square. _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

Lindblum from Final Fantasy IX. Not only was IX my favorite game, but that was my favorite town. You did so much cool stuff there, and so much cool stuff happend. FFIX would never be the same without that awesome town. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I dunno, I don't think I could name a single favorite. I love all the towns in Earthbound. Favorites of those would probably be Onett and Fourside cause I love the music and the way they look. I must admit, although I don't care for the games they were in, I think Midgar and Balamb Garden were really cool. Heh, perhaps also the house in OHR House?
EDIT: Oh! Also the final dungeon in FF4. That was a really interesting place. Once again, great music and look. _________________ Locked

I have to agree with RMZ. FFIX was a really good game and Lindblum was great too. Not sure if it is my favorite place in any RPG though, but I can't think of a better one off of the top of my head so I'll go with Lindblum.
In the OHR style, I'll agree with Kahn, the mining town in FF6 was great. Mind blowing for 2D.
Actually, now that I think of it, the dungeon in Majora's Mask (At least I think it was Majora's Mask) that flips upside down. That was just a great dungeon. A lot of the Zelda dungeons are just the greatest. _________________ My name is...

The Tower in the middle of the earth in ff4. The moon in ff4. The last dungeon in ff4. Kefkas tower in ff6. Yes the mining town Narshe in ff6. gold saucer city in ff7. Dont forget metroid in all the metroid games that place was pretty freaky and cool. So thats my favorite places. |

my most favourite place is Dalih (the second town in FFIX, where you steal the cargo ship)
it's small, and full of spirit, has a few background mysteries and the music is just very subtle and calm _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch
(no offense to anyone that was mentioned) |

It isn't really a town, but I loved the feeling I got in Dragon Quest V when you finally go into the Zenithian Tower, and it's exactly the same as in Dragon Warrior IV except that its now all run down and there are pillars broken and stuff. The place really gave the feeling of exploring a very ancient, long abandoned place, probably because you knew what it was and how old it was. |

Mine would have to be Suikoden's 2 Main castle the one you get later in the game and by collecting more characters your castle grows, with cooking and all other sorts of goodness. |

I'm not going to comment on my feelings about FFIX, but the dungeons of FFIX were amazing. I can't remember the name of the place (It was at the beginning of disc 3, where you fought the Vilia Pira (I think I spelled that right)) I loved the candle puzzle. It was challenging, and brilliant in design. If only Square could have lowered the load times for those pesky battles that took forever to fight in the first place, it would have been perfection. (Also, my game froze a lot of the time, which also might add a bit to my antipathy of the game. I might buy a new copy.)
For towns, I would have to say two. Dali is extremely amazing in story development (I think it has the second most ATEs after Treno.) For variety, the Gold Saucer is intact, as it has many minigames for you to dwindle your time and Gil on. _________________ Calehay |

My favorite area right now is the entire world of Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It's just plain awesome how it's laid out, and the graphics are awesome - cel shading makes it look like you're playing a wonderful cartoon. |
