Its fairly easy to learn, as it seems so far. Its very basic. But I can't seem to find anything related to using spells outside of battle.
Like, I want to call a script when 'spell X' is used outside battle, and I'm not finding anything that would allow me to do that. I'm know I'm going to have to use 'Usable outside of battle' on the attack, but I don't know how I would call a script from that. Is it even possible? |

I don't believe so, though it would be useful. You could do it via an item, though that's a poor substitute. _________________

Wait, that'd be a good idea; being able to call scripts from outside-of-battle spells! Someone needs to put that in somehow. _________________

I asked Mr. Paige for this (spells used outside of battle, like a warping spell) a long while ago, but I don't think it is very easy to implement into the engine.
The best thing I can think of is to use keypress scripts, and have some letter on the keyboard used to call a menu of 'outside of battle' spells. This would probably require some extensive npc usage though. Or you could have the menu take place on a separate map, perhaps.
I guess what I'm saying is: to use special outside of battle spells, you will need to plotscript a custom menu. |
