Prepare for the annual tradition. The second-oldest Ohrrpgce contest (after the 48 hour contest) is approaching..

This year's Human Day Game Contest, breaking tradition, will begin on December 10, but end on Human Day (December 25th). This means 2 weeks.

As per tradition, you can use any game engine (Ohrrpgce, Game Maker, etc.) or pure program.

The prize will be a small collection of game design related books from my library. I'll give a list of them, and you pick three.

Like last year, there will be no second or third prizes, because Harlock has shown himself incapable of delivering on his prize promises and has entirely abandoned the contest.

As per tradition, the panel of judges will be a secret panel of "Heroists" and "Heroist lackies".

As per tradition, we reserve the right to say "there was no winner, all of the entries didn't fit the theme".

Return here on December 10th, and I shall announce the theme and give further instructions.

Can you defeat last year's defending champion, Gilbert/RollingStone/Bastardzero?

Can you proudly and boldly say, "I won the HUMAN DAY contest!"?

I was wondering where this was hiding. Was sort of hoping for a better heads up than this. Wink
But, wouldn't you know it, this interferes with another contest for me. If things go well, of course I'd be interested as I have yet to complete an entry for this contest (among others).

We're fucked!
This could be an interesting contest if the most holly jolly, generous being on Earth competes. Then again, maybe not.

I'd think he'd be quite busy.

No. He's magical. And a snow demon.
Also, he has Elf slaves.

THE THEME OF THE HUMAN DAY CONTEST IS:

"Why does Gizmog make such stupid games?"

To answer this question you must investigate Gizmog and his games, and discover the principle which leads his games to be stupid (note that stupid is not the same thing as bad), and then create a game revolving around that principle. (Yes, he knows that this will be the theme.)

Post a link to your game here, or send me the game at rinkuhero@gmail.com, by December 25th.

Ha ha ha! I can't stop laughing...

I think I might just enter.

:edit: Is there anyway we can bring up an entire list of games that he's done?

Yeah, go to the Forum Index and find the Gamelist Search link. Do a search by author.

Gizmog says he's happy about this, and that if anyone wants to talk to him he's in IRC pretty much any given time for interviews, autographs, and his adoring fans. (He would post it himself, but he's banned.)

I doubt I'll be joining the fun, but who knows, the topic appeals. I just might try it out.
