Yes, it's me with fonts again. I know, I know, don't worry, this'll be quick. I've justs finished and uploaded fonts 11 through 15. They're still all available in a single package here.
My fonts have improved noticeabley, although there is one that I did VERY little work in again, like the Restaurant font I made earlier. This one actually has no real changes to the letters' appearances, but still looks pretty neat and much, much better than the Restaurant font. As for the other ones, they look a lot different from the OHR font, and here's a quick list of them all in order of uniqueness as compared to the OHR font: Oval, Even, Holes, Warped, and Madness.
I have the descriptions for the first ten SOMEWHERE in these forums, but I have no idea where. Here's the descriptions for the new five, though:
1. Even - Somewhat like a different version of my Thin font, in that the Thin font was a slimmed down version of the OHR font and this one has very few (as in two or three of the tricky ones) letters based off of the OHR ones. Some of the letters are in a noticeably different style as well, and in some letters the 'two-pixel-line' thickness remains for a part or so.
2. Holes - I admit that this one may actually LOOK a bit more original than the Even font, but it really isn't, since all of the letters were based off of the OHR font, which I then turned into swiss cheese. If pay attention to the letters you should be able to notice it, but if you're just reading through it it looks like an entirely different font.
3. Madness - This is the horrible originality one which I didn't really change the appearance of any of the original letters (well, a few I changed, but very few). What's unique is that basically the entire first half of the alphabet is two or three pixels off the ground, and some more commonly used ones from the second half. It may not be the most original thing I've ever done in my life, but it does look good the way the letters are assembled in words. Almost every word has at least one or two letters above the ground, and yet it remains quite easy to read.
4. Oval - This one is probably the best public one I've made (I like my Destiny's Cruelty font better). The letters all used the OHR letters as the starting guidelines, but look radically different. The premise was to make all the letters look more circular, and as a result some of the letters may be the OHR ones, and I'm thinking in particular the Os and Qs. I ended up changing them, but I'm not sure if they're in the font package I released or not. If they're the old ones, they'll be changed the next time I make more fonts, if I do, or when I stop being lazy.
5. Warped - These letters are basically half on a slant, like half-italics. The upper-left corner of the letters is slanted, and the bottom-right probably is to, though I don't remember of the top of my head...
So please--- PLEASE--- give me some more comments this time. I'm putting up a poll as well so people who don't feel like posting can at least tell me what they liked. Madness won't be on the poll, however, due it's direct rip-off-ness. _________________ Preserve OHR history! Do it for the children! |
