I have just downloaded the entire games list that is available at present. I was just wondering as to how i would go about keeping it up to date? I would like to be informed about new releses/modifications so that i can download them. Any tips? i.e. subscribing to a relese newsletter or something? |

You downloaded the entire game list? Most of those games are never updated, and will stay as is.

If you scroll down you'll find a bar labeled 'Newest Additions - Games'. Those are the last 5 games that have been uploaded to the server. Besides checking that everyday, I guess you can search the forums for announcements when people update their game.

The newest Hamsterspeak always mentions what games came out that month, and usually includes reviews for said games, as well. _________________

If CP goes down, can you learn how to host the games on a webspace? _________________

I use a tool called httrack to maintain the game list mirror
You might like it. It does a decent job of only downloading the new stuff. (but it still does has to download a lot, so it isn't something you should run daily) |

I wish we had had more people making their own backups of content. Just recently, JSH lost all of the Top 30 lists. Likewise, perhaps hundreds of old games are lost, but there must still be quite a few of them sitting around on people's harddisks...
Also, what's the poll about? How often we download and play random games appearing on the front page? _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
