Here are my hero sprites and the different weapons they can equip. What I'd like to know specifically is: Are the colors too dark? Do the weapons look okay? And any other comments are welcome.
The top row is default weapon with all sprites, the bottom row are the remaining weapons with the hero in "standing" pose.
Catara
Elias
Kirsch
Lumina - uses the same weapons as Kirsch
Rasp
Typhon
Yasuo

Quote: | Are the colors too dark? | I can't really answer this question. What matters is if they show up on backgrounds okay, which I can't tell with them on a black canvas. _________________

It's kind of tough to differentiate the wooden parts of Typhon's weapons from her cape.
Also, I missed this genre of OHR Hero graphics :D |

Typhon is actually a guy with long hair. I don't really know how to REALLY differentiate that visually though on this scale. Ideas are welcome, but I might have to just do it through dialogue.

Which genre? Just curious how you would characterize these.

Good point. I have no backgrounds made up so it's tough to say, but they all have a black outline, so it's sort of okay. _________________ My name is...

Though, looking at your sprites again, I think some colors do need to be brightened, those closest to black, so it doesn't look like a jumbled blob of pure dark. Elias is most guilty of this.
And I agree with Typhon's weapons not showing up too well. I remember having a similar problem with my own bow user. _________________

I think the coloring technique and maybe character proportions seemed to remind me of some older OHR games. |
