I'm having a tough time deciding which game I enjoyed most. They're both extremely well crafted, epic tales that leave little room for improvement.
What do you guys think? |

I liked the day and night system of sword of jade and alot of the graphics (even if i never got past the boss in the cave in the forest) but i think i like vikings better because it uses almost everything the ohr has to offer, as well as adding some neat sidequests.
...
(i still have to do a let's play of vikings...) _________________

Agreed.
For games like these I like to up my stats to 9999, however it becomes a problem with battles you have to lose.
~ Spoiler ~
Although Vikings is incomplete, you can easily load more of the scenario and battles via custom exe. I couldn't help myself...
The ending to Sword of Jade was excellent and could easily take a different path if a sequel were released. The plotscripting for both was well done and quite frankly I prefer it over static backgrounds.
I'm gonna have to give both designers a gold ranking. |

I found vikings to be pathetically easy, so much so that I just quit after a while. So I vote for sword of Jade, I guess, although I have not beaten either game. |

Pardon me for going off subject, but is it wrong that I still enjoy Wandering Hamster more than these epic games? |

If it were to be updated to the latest version of the OHR, I think it would be even better. |
Speaking of which, now SoJ has been rereleased under a new license that lets anybody update it.
Although man those guys that made it were crazy. That one dude especially never shut up about his game. So annoying. Always posting release dates and never meeting them, although it's nice we finally got the game, it was all blah blah blah there for years. |

I've enjoyed SoJ and WH plenty, but can never find myself choosing between the two. It's kind of a shame really that all three games aren't distributed with the core OHR package, but that's another debate altogether.
Also, I don't really care if Vikings is easy or not, so long as it's enjoyable by most people who play it for the first time. |

Well of course you should care of people find Vikings easy or not, because that directly relates to whether or not it is an enjoyable experience. You wouldn't find a game enjoyable if you got stuck on the first level (this was my problem with Ninja Gaiden... ), and you wouldn't find it enjoyable if you won the final boss fight by just holding down the spacebar.
Challenge certainly isn't the only factor in whether or not a form of media is enjoyable (how difficult is it to make it to the end of a Movie or TV show?) but it is very important for a good experience.
Vikings is a well-polished, high-quality game, but I'm sticking with Sword of Jade. |

I know I got stuck on one boss in Vikings, though it was probably toned down by now. I also know there used to be a huge difficulty spike at one point, though that likely changed too. _________________

[edit]Nevermind, I see you've answered these questions in the journals...[/edit]

What license? And are you guys still working on it, or are you pretty much leaving it to whoever decides to pick it up and mess with it? I'd love to see a version that works with the current OHR, not to mention some new music... |

I think the point of the license change is to allow us to upgrade it to work well with the current nightlies (although most of the work may turn out to be fixing bugs in the nightlies to make the old SoJ file work correctly) |
