IIrc, every Fire Emblem game gives you a tiny bit of experience for missing, while using the 100xp to level thing.

Don't remember? When you posted screenshots of your first game I told you that you highlight your outlines to much and that I thought one of the heroes was actually a skeleton because of that. Then you tried to improve it and it looked a bit better but all your characters still have this skeleton-ish feeling to it. You totally should make a game that's about skeletons. *nods*
Well I guess that's just your unique style. I'm more disappointed about myself because I didn't realize myself that the characters were made by you.

It doesn't make a difference gameplay wise, but it will make the player feel better that his action wasn't completely in vain. It really helps. Not everything can be explained with gameplay theories. _________________ Snippy:

Yay, I finally managed to beat mission 2 without any losses.
Two more issues I found:
- enemy units can move on the same tile! I was at the southern part of the second mission map and there was only one tile gap between me and the 'end of the world' blue and then an archer walking on a step next to me but no battle started and then a warrior went on the same tile as the archer and started a combo attack
- after the second battle I don't really get the reason why they have to suddenly flee, the dialogue says something about that they investigate the ship and someone is furious if they find out that they failed or something... maybe it's just because my mother-tongue isn't English but I re-read it like 3 times and still didn't get it _________________ Snippy:

Also: The thief keeps talking even when he's long-time-dead.
Is the game even beatable without deaths? I can't seem to be able to beat those Ghouls without getting hit by them and the poison will always at least kill one of my characters...
But the real reason I am posting: I saw one of the games are made with Game Maker and I wondered if we can join contests with non-OHR games as well. _________________ Snippy:

Yes; it's not even particularly hard. If you're having trouble with it, move down in difficulty.
And yes, this particular contest allows non-OHR entries. _________________

Hm I see. I should look out better for contests then.
Moving down in difficulty isn't really possible anymore I'm already playing normal. One more lower and I wouldn't even care if one character dies. :p
If you ever have some time can you host a movie on how to beat the ghoul stage without losing a character? Maybe I can learn something from it. _________________ Snippy:

Whew! Much delayed, but I just uploaded a new demo of Wandering Hamster.
Considering the delay, this is a kinda small update, but I feel pretty good about it. Quality not quantity.
I was having a lot of fun with text box portraits.
If anybody wants to skip to near where the new stuff starts, you can use this SAV file (although strictly where the new-new stuff starts is about halfway through the Mini-golf.) |

There was an update in-between that one and this, but if you start from the sav file that I linked to, you really won't miss much.
The only new thing in the earlier part of the game is that many (but not all) of the text boxes have portraits now.
You uploaded it yesterday (in my time zone anyway), and the late days start from the 2nd, so I put you down as 48% late, same as me. |

Didn't notice if this was covered, b u t for votes to count, a public comment on each game's completeness is required, as in this very thread?
Does this mean anyone who doesn't play them all to the end or won't lie, that they are ineligible to vote? |

I am not being that strict. I think we already have a pretty good consensus on which games are "complete", so don't feel you absolutely have to do that in order to get your "Best" and "Most Improved" votes counted.
Of course you should play to the end of all the games, but there is no enforcement of that other than the honor system.
Oh, and I think we will extend the voting for an extra two weeks, until say Oct 17 or so, so people will have more time to play the games (I know I'm not done playing them all yet myself.) |
