I get the feeling I've completely bungled this. In hindsight, I probably should've explained voting better and made a separate thread for voting.
If I were to run the scores as they are now, I'd have to throw out TwinHamsters for inexplicably being in 1-1000 format, assume Moogle meant to give a game with "excellent atmosphere and sound effects" 4 stars out of ten, throw Bacon and JSH's votes out for not scoring all of the entrants, and Charbile's votes out for spite.
We had four entries, and five voters. I'm going to try and get hold of the "offending" voters and clarify their intentions, which I arguably should've done weeks ago. Hopefully, we'll have this all sorted out by Thanksgiving so our winners can get their gloating done before any Human Day festitivities start up. |

And the results are in! It was a really close contest this year. Just take a look at the raw scoring.

Charbile was clearly the most original of our contestants, with Moogle and Bacon tying for second best in creativity. Moogle also managed to outfun Charbile by a single point! That fun did not translate into fear, however, with Moogle dodging last place in Scariness by a single point.
Ultimately, it came down to the fright factor. Charbile and Bacon graced us with two of the strangest and scariest games the contest has ever seen. Would Charbile's surreal take on gamemaking itself strike a chord? Would Bacon's atmospheric maze pull the upset? Who would be the winner? Whose cuisine would reign supreme?!

Sleepover sleeps its way to the top! Congratulations to Charbile on a fantastic victory as Halloween Queen 2009!
And a special thanks to all our other entrants. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of SHIiDA, and clearly TwinHamster and Moogle have got their own exciting projects in the works. This was the closest Halloween contest I can remember, and everyone brought something special to the table. Thank you, congratulations, and see you all next year. |
