I used to have a forum hosted on phpbb, but it disappeared without a trace about a year ago. The home site of phpbb itself is completely gone, so there's no way to salvage any of my information from my forum.
My question is, how is this site still up when mine slipped away into oblivion? Or did you just leave that phpbb sticker on and are not affiliated with them at all? _________________ 'Wyrd bið ful aræd.' |

phpbb is the software that this forum is running on. Inferior Minion hosts it on his own site.
phpbb's current home site is: https://www.phpbb.com/ |

That's interesting... maybe they're back up after all. I must need to just renew my domain or something. Thanks! I'll check it out. _________________ 'Wyrd bið ful aræd.' |

Ope. Never mind. Apparently the domain service provider was getphpbb at http://www.getphpbb.com, which is somehow different and appears to have utterly disappeared. Thanks anyway. _________________ 'Wyrd bið ful aræd.' |

I have a feeling that phpBB will be around forever.
Incidentally, the version of phpBB 2 used on this site is not the latest bugfix release of phpBB 2. So I'm really surprised that some vulnerability in the forums haven't been exploited. Actually phpBB 2 is so old that phpBB removed the downloads for it from their website over 5 years ago, you can't even find it on the "Older Releases" FTP site. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
