Don't get your hopes up, Ysoft. He's not only straight, but engaged.

And Hachi, I won't think less of you for your vote, or even for voting anonymously. It mostly comes down to not trusting Ysoft not to try to manipulate the contest, as he has tried to do before. The fault wasn't so much yours for sending your vote privately as it was Ysoft's for posting it.

I don't care about the vote so much as the reasons behind it. Since you gave none, I see nothing to disagree with.

I'm not voting because, other than PHC's, they all look the same to me. I probably liked one marginally more than the others, but I don't remember which so it couldn't have been that much better. Komera's is probably the most well drawn though, but all these characters look like they were designed by the same person. Sure some are more eptly illustrated, but beyond margins of talent, there's not much to tell them apart. Well, Rinku's has a giant poultry where her vagina should be, but it's somehow drawn in a way that makes it not so Gigeresque anymore. I'd just vote for PHC but the rules to voting look too complicated. I could've learned'em in the time it took me to write this, but I'd rather spend that time making a point.

Man... If you can't understand the rules - you can't read. Those rules are very simple.

All the pictures are not the same. If thats your statement on this - maybe you shouldnt be hanging around the art forum. All art is unique and differnt. Each peice has its own characteristics and faults of its own. You just got to look at them properly. Zoom in. Admire the works for the time people put into them or the value of the art for the small amount of time the people put into them.

Take this seriously and you'll change your mind. Many people probably chose not to vote because they didn't think this was a serious contest because of the way the contest was run. Administration plays a big role in contests - but the actual content takes the upper seat.

right on brother, right on.

art is something one should appreciate by examining it up closely, ye I made a big mistake by trying to take away one piece of work and keep the others, but I learned with this contest that art is art, some are good some are bad, but they portraigh the artist in its own unique way.

anyway, this is the last day, tommorrow I am counting the votes and posting it in another thread.

But it's true, most of those sprites do look the same! The point of the art forum is to post art and get feedback, negative and positive. Mine isn't so much negative or positive as just kind of unmoved. None of these sprites are really bad, just unspectacular. It's enough to motivate me to complain, but I can't vote because the art isn't interesting enough to make me care about who wins.

Someone who thinks that all art is unique and different has absolutely no business lecturing people on how to appreciate it.
