mul·let
n. pl. mullet or mul·lets
Any of various stout-bodied, edible fishes of the family Mugilidae, found worldwide in tropical and temperate coastal waters and some freshwater streams. Also called gray mullet.
The red mullet.

[Middle English molet, from Medieval Latin mulettus, probably from Old French mulet, from mul, from Latin mullus, from Greek mullos.]

\Mul"let\, n. [OE. molet, mulet, F. mulet, fr. L. mullus.] 1. (Zo["o]l.) Any one of numerous fishes of the genus Mugil; -- called also gray mullets. They are found on the coasts of both continents, and are highly esteemed as food. Among the most valuable species are Mugil capito of Europe, and M. cephalus which occurs both on the European and American coasts.

2. (Zo["o]l.) Any species of the genus Mullus, or family Mullid[ae]; called also red mullet, and surmullet, esp. the plain surmullet (Mullus barbatus), and the striped surmullet (M. surmulletus) of Southern Europe. The former is the mullet of the Romans. It is noted for the brilliancy of its colors. See Surmullet.

French mullet. See Ladyfish (a).

\Mul"let\, n. [F. molette.] (Her.) A star, usually five pointed and pierced; -- when used as a difference it indicates the third son.

\Mul"let\, n. [Cf. F. molet a sort of pinchers.] Small pinchers for curling the hair. [Obs.] --B. Jonson.

n 1: highly valued lean flesh of marine or freshwater mullet [syn: gray mullet] 2: freshwater or coastal food fishes a spindle-shaped body; found worldwide [syn: gray mullet] 3: bottom-dwelling marine warm-water fishes with two barbels on the chin

Try any of those meanings... dont know if it covers it... Rolling Eyes

I like your art. The hair at the back does seem a bit long... Like a mullet... LOL. You know the hair that grows at the back of your head, if it gets very long it becomes a mullet. I dont see why its so funny though... Big grin
