About 5% of the time my avatars are advertisements for my games (like right now No, no, no...

). Normally, it's completely random depending on mood. I usually change once a month, just because I get bored of them quickly.

As for importance...they are good for associating a person with a post, which means you don't have to spend the time reading their name, you can just look at the picture.

People who change there avatars a lot are mostly eccentric, or that e- word describing out going people. People who can't sit still, eg. People who keep an avatar are probably more clear thinkers, think before act so and so forth... well thats my opinion.

Avatarsre avatars. Never judge a book by it's cover, or a member by it's avatar. I mean, I have had many avatars, and a lot I just picked out of random.

I guess it would mean something if the avatar was nudity though. Kinda conterversial... maybe... Best not go there.

Red, that's why they call them avatars. An avatar is a front/image someone puts up instead of their real appearance.

of course avatars are important as a first-impresssion thing.

mine mainly reflects my sense of humor -- i'm mocking PHC`s avatar( and intend to add more frames as i draw them) . and of course that i like to draw.
secondarily that i like to squick people if i think their sensitivities are unconnected with reality.

normally i would have an avatar portraying me as i want to be, however i don't currently have a suitable pic.

of others avatars, i like rinku's the most. sometimes komera has ones i really like (not presently though)

so i decided to make an avatar which hopefully squicks you as much as yours squicks me. if you are not squicked at all that's great, there should be more people like you who are ok with the idea that people con find the same sex attractive too Happy

my avatar is not finished yet, it needs lots more frames and angles.
