That email, which was the first real documentation on slices, can be found cleaned up and linkified at 'Plotslices Tutorial'

I guess it wouldn't help things if I added and started talking about both array slicing and array splicing :P

We could try and avoid 'array slices', and talk about 'sliced arrays' instead, or use 'subarray' which probably a more formal term.
