Read a good book or three. It's amazing how much inspiration you can get from another creative work. Not ripping stuff off, mind you, but something thought-provoking will send your mind in a hundred different directions.

By the way, Redmaverick, did you ever get my message about the toasters? I kept getting an error message when I tried to send it to you, but I didn't want to keep trying lest I flood you with redundant messages.

I got it. When you get an error, it still sends.

Well, if you try my idea and start failing, I'd advise you stop trying my idea, naturally...Wink

I've realized that when I am making a game, I stop caring about it and delete it because I fall in a slump, and then later I want to make it again, but it's gone. So just a note to anyone, keep those crappy RPG files. Becuase, eventually, you'll want them.

Hahaha, I wasn't too good at games back in the day, Mr.Triangle 1 is an example of that. I was in a slump with Axle, so I made Mr.Triangle for sh*ts and giggles.

Well my game making sprees are influenced by the one boring factor that is the annoyance of school. My biobots game has ground to a halt... tch.
...teachers... what do they know! *probably more than me*

I've been working on my first game for about 7 months now, its very far in progress but I bet I could have been done it before school if not for these long times of inactivity. And now that schools back in, I usually dont work on it at all except on weekends... hmm, last weekend I did get quite a bit done. Anyways, getting off topic but expect my 1st game relatively soon, and yeah I can take critism.

lol, planethunter.

my advice, make the teacher's personality an evil being in your game.
I'm doing that all the time, like my maths teacher who thinks he can rule the world with knowing nothing about politics, is a dictator in my game where everyone in the town hates him, but no one is willing to do anything (like in my maths class with him)

it's great inspiration to use everyday events, as a part of your game, just don't overdo it.

I actually made a game where I did make fun of almost everybody I disliked in my school... it was good harmless fun, I even made fun of myself! The only downsides to it are it was my very first game, and most of the sprites share the same palettes, and it's only a demo.

I might add it too the list, but it is so newbie-ish and graphically inferior it would be a waste of time.

My slump is called "I don't have a computer". It's the worst slump ever. Do your very best to avoid it.
Seriously, though, I do still try to plan and write and draw character designs for my game, I just can't actually make anything for it right now. It sucks.
