I like you, Cacti. You think too highly of my skills.
Seriously, anyone who understands the slightest thing about plotscripting could make this. I'm using commands that are very simple.
It boosts your stats among the other things mentioned, and then when you save your file, it saves all of those things.
When you play a game through Game.exe, the game reads any .sav file that has the same name as the .rpg file, thus when you rename your OHRAngel.sav to the game's name, all of those saved stats are carried over into the game. _________________

Dur, it's easy. All it really does is set the money to an amount, change money amount, etc. Anyways, I say you did a lazy job with this project. It could have been done MUCH better. I mean, I could do this by myself a few years ago with simple thought.
EDIT: Aaah, my shitty RAM and setu's already beaten me to it..

Basically (If I'm not mistaken) if the first map in your map list isn't used, or a new game script has extremely important effects that you can't really play properly without, then OHR angel doesn't work. By using the .sav files it automatically assumes you have started a new game and thus by-passes the new game script completely. |

I don't expect it will work with Where Gods and Mortals Dance whenever I make that, since it's using a completely different battle system. Maybe I should make cheats on my own for the stuff OHR Angel won't be able to do for it... |

Sephy- You're absolutely right. Using the Angel would definitely assume that you already bypassed the NewGame script. This is only one factor as to why I hesitantly posted it.
MCW- I'll be subtle. For starters, if you could do so much better, than why haven't/don't you get off your "a double-scribble" and do better then!? Seriously, I know it was an easy effort, and if you can do it better, then by all means, help yourself. You don't have to be an arse about it.
And another thing...

hmmm... some games can be easily made to bypass the cheats made and reset the stats made by OHRAngel. But who would haven't enough time to implement that to their game...
...I'll give it a try after it stands out like a sore thumb. _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

The OHR Angel sounds cool, but I have a suggestion to make: Make a code listening prog in the interface so that you could change the X,Y of a char on a map by putting them into global variables, thus repairing one of the main bugs of the battousai project. _________________ Yeah, I thought I was dead too.

He already did that (he also made Battousai, if you didn't know).
Anyway, one problem with the Angel is that you don't always know the proper XY coordinates of the starting point. You'd probably have to try it a few times before getting it in a good spot... |

ah...
Well, with my experimenting on SAV files, I found that they act very strangly when used with multiple RPG files:
Each Save slot takes up exactly 60000 bytes in the file. If you only save on the first slot, then the file is 60000B. If you save in the 4th slot, then it sticks 60000bytes into the file for every save slot that is not used, so that the SAV file is 240000bytes in size. Now, if you go and use the SAV file with a largely different game, Game.exe creates extra slots for the new game when you save, so you may end with a file 360000 bytes in size, etc.
I don't know how this works, but it boils down it 1 thing: Your cheating method won't work always.
Tt should work seemlessly if you instead write your own program to edit SAV files... its not that much work, really! You just change the values of the stats, etc, and then compare the new SAV file with the one before the change. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

There you are right, Cacti.
Not every game will really work with it.
Actually, I know what you're saying, DarkSKell. I thought about doing that, but I'm not really familiar with getting advanced stuff to work.
On other note, it has now occured to me that MCW has absolutely no sense of humor. _________________
