|
|
Wasn't sure where to put this, because it could have suited the plotscripting forum since it deals with a plotscript causing the game to slow down, and it could belong here because I was going to ask about some gimmicks to add to the battle system, which SDHawk brought to my attention (*is no longer boiling with anger* ). It could also have been an announcement since it is a bug-fixing release update thing.
Anyway, if you didn't catch it from the above paragraph, or are just lazy:
1. Uploaded a new Partisan Legacy I file, which has the fix for the script so it runs much more smoothly and quickly now (Thanks for the info, Setu )
2. Anyone have any ideas I could have so I could have inspiration on what I should add as a gimmick for the battle system? I need something to "draw the player in" and not make it seem like the game is a "rotting apple when the player first bites in" Anyway, anyone care to share? I need inspiration here
3. Just wanted to note why the plotscript was slowing the game down, and it was due to what I noticed that check equipment is apparently a lot slower than a tag check, which in case you use tags on the equipment so when you check, you can just check the tag, and if it's on, then you can check if the correct character has it equipped. THEN you can do whatever, teach 'em spells or the like, and then set a second tag (that is checked along with the equipped tag in the beginning) to either on or off, that way you only check and teach the spell once, until it the item is unequipped or re-equipped. Rather complex in words, but rather simple to do in plotscripting. PLI runs a lot smoother now
Also, on a side note, check out my signature. I'm with Realmsoft now! YAY! (oh yeah, and Setu rulez. ) _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek

LOL
I like the story, and mainly the battle system/ item / spell system the best.
Of course I live fairly close to Minnek in RL, so I like to bug him on getting things done.
See, Minnek? Things worked out alright after all... Keep makin those games. They arent bad at all.) _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Yes! Shadow did a very nice job with the review, got me inspired to improve and such. His description is right, "definition of cool" Anyway, the story is bland because of my lack of correct presentation, I'm thinking... there's more to it but I guess I don't show it well enough in the game (not that I"m going to suddenly have everyone beat it into your head constantly =X ) Now I can finish it and astound the community with how much I've improved! (and still have it be stupid, because hey, that's my job. I AM the village idiot ) _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek

Right you are, now stop being like my shadow, and following me where ever I go, like right after I have been there...
Anyway, I tried to inspire Minnek to keep it up as well. I mean, if we all help out in the comunity, then we can make it a better place. (Minneks game might even make it more interesting) Dont even try to guess what I meant be that. Definition of cool Partisan legacy is being!!! _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Yeah; I forgot to mention that in my review. The presentation needs a little work. However, the opening "sequence" was fine, actually. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Thanks. I'm planning another opening sequence, dealing with Terenas and Irvine and the destruction of the Elf village (hopefully you did in fact get to that point of the game... but since you reviewed it, I'm guessing you did.) It'd be either a movie (via my sucky drawing skills and coloring via computer skills) or a normal walkabout-scene with plotscripting. I'm not sure which yet....probably the drawing one, since I can do that one in more detail. I'm not too good at burning objects down, as you could probably tell from the mountain encounter _________________ * SDHawk has joined #Minnek
