Well, actually it's my father's old scanner. My mother bought him a scanner/copier/printer so he didn't need his old scanner anymore. Hopefully I won't accidentally step on this one, either. Heh heh.

These are the most worthwhile of the pictures I made (and either finished or dropped) in the period of time between when I stepped on the previous scanner, and now.

I love critiques (and since these are all more or less unfinished, I might use them, too), but I'll take a "hey, good job!" anyday.

Talumori05.jpg - I really like the characters' pose in this one. I don't how to describe it. The picture conveys a sense of movement better than all the rest.

As for critique, I think you should try to avoid facing people directly to the left or to the right. It's not very interesting to look at.

003: The proportions look really weird. His legs look kind of small compared to his upper body. His arms seem a bit too skinny, and the hand.. just looks wrong.

006: The features looks disaligned from the face. The shape of the face suggests that her head is facing towards the left, but the features look too much like she's looking straight at the camera, or canvas, or whatever.

I couldn't look at all of them because apparently your site has exceeded its alloted data transfer, but I have to say that your drawings are awesome, especially the colored ones. Just out of curiosity, what do you use to color? I think it looks like colored pencils but I know nothing on the subject.

1. Looks like an amputee, and one with bad proportions.

2. Legs are too small.

3. Looks way out of proportion.

4. What the hell is that?! Looks cool, though.

5. SCHWING! Legs are too small, though.

6. Looks like a chinese lady with a lopsided face. Her breasts are too low, the legs and hips are waaay too small, and the arms are too long. Congratulations, it's a beast.

7. For some reason, I've always liked your symbolic figures. I couldn't tell what the one on the bottom right was...probably a tiger or something. But the dragons looked cool.

8. I liked this one the best. It made sense to me, because I've played Wingedmene. I really liked it.

9. Hey, I like this one! It looks like what would be on the box of a sci-fi tape, like The Guyver or something. Really well done. Your husband must be one deadly handsome dude. One thing...the left (his right) eye is lopsided from the other one. Other than that, good job.

10. ...nice storyboards. I couldn't see 03, though. I don't get it, though...

The rest of them were unaccessable. Fucking internet. I really like your art, Komera, but you need to work on proportions. Like, a lot. Also, facial and body symmetry needs a lot of work, too. I respect you, because I know how hard it is, but I still think you need to work on it.[/i]

Probably because you and no_shot were looking at the site simutaniously (I would have to assume so concidering your posts are within minutes of each other). And yes, it is colored pencil. I prefer using dry media.

Well I personally think he is. And funny you should mention The Guyver, because that's how Alpha tried describing the character's armor to me (but originally I didn't get it because I had never seen either animated series or movies). Although I was actually thinking more of Detonator Orgun when I did this one.

So, Komera, why aren't you working with Royal at Lionhead Studios? Wink

That's some really nice work.

Because I'm a freelance children book illustrator (translation: no one's picked up my work yet, but most of the publishing houses I've submitted to have kept my samples and told me they just don't have any current projects needing my style... there was one house that rude and sent all the samples back, and another house that said little and sent back only half...). Right now I'm just looking for a publishing house that needs my style of fantasy (and that's apparently the problem... not that many houses do fantasy).

I love doing super detailed drawings... the kind I would have loved to see in my own children books as a kid (they probably existed, but like almost everything else I owned, my books were hand-me-downs from my sibling... so I never had that many).

also, she's working on alterpoint, which is going to be better than anything lionhead studios will ever produce.

NOTE: this is not to hype alterpoint, just to show that she has at least as good a job as royal does

all of them look great, especially the ones from wingedmene
the trouble would be the head of most of the drawings, but that's about all.

great work
