I think it'd be really cool if in battle an attack could make the screen flash a certain color and be able to control how many times it flashes and for how long. I think it'd put more emphasis on the more powerful attacks and makes things look cooler. Big grin

i want customizable menu commands which link to plotscripts! you know, so i could do things like, make a menu command called 'door', which when selected runs a door opening plotscript command.

I asked James about nested variables in text boxes a couple of days after he first unveiled the text box variables. It was actually the first thing I tried with them. He said he would see if that was feasible, but he never said any more. I have a feeling it was not possible...

I'd like a plotscript command to call the menu and spells that wen used outside of battle run a script.

I'd like custom menus, for instance, a backdrop on the menu, or a different menu colour, or even custom menu option places, a menu that looks more RPG like, with faces, stats and everything. I hate to use an example like this one:

But it was the only one i could find that was what I was thinking, but it's from RPG Maker 2000... It would just be... more RPG like. The pic's in Italian I think, but it's more the layout.

You can easily script your own like that, Roach. Rinku did.

Hmm you could script that but it wouldn't be easy, and I would like a bonus hidden stat that increases when you lose HP, and when it gets to like a hundred you get a special attack, (similar to final fantasy VIIs Limit Breaks.)

Yeah, but you can fake that REALLY easily with the current system. Since the "Counter" stat isn't implemented (and hopefully never will, I like having an unused stat hanging around), you can use it to fake limit breaks, new attack stats, style points (DW6 anyone?), and anything like that.

Yeah, I know at least 5 ways to do limit breaks with the OHR. And about 50 things you can do with the Counter stat. It's amazing. OHR Arena uses it(PS Play it).

I can only think of one way.

Limit Break:
Base ATK stat: Counter
Base DEF stat: Defense
Target stat: HP
Extra damage: 500
Aim math: never misses
Extra hits: 0
Delay before attack: 30

All of the enemys attacks should chain to this:
Base ATK stat: Attack
Base DEF stat: Defense
Target stat: Counter
Extra damage: -100%
Aim math: never misses
Extra hits: 0
Delay before attack: 0
Bitsets:
Don't display damage
Cure instead of harm
Allow cure to exceed maximum

is that right?

It would be even BETTER if you could make attacks cost a stat other than SP - that way the unused stat could be used to pay for certain attacks that might require it or something.

Actually, Roach Lir, you can make your own menus like that, and you don't even have to be really good at plotscripting either. If I was amitious enough, I could use the same script I wrote for The World menu in .hack//OHR to make a custom menu. It can be a big rig job, but you can do it.
