TM, you said yourself last time that everyone should vote on a gimmick the second time, too.

Did I say two gimmicks in a row? If I did I probably didn't mean to, :(

The catgirl "porn" wasn't hard to find, and the secret shop wasn't too bad, either. I couldn't find the third one, unless it was the debug keys...

Story!

Guys, think of it this way.

If you add gimmicks now, or flesh out the story now, then later on, vote length, you'll have the first section really fleshed out with crazy gimmicks, but then the second half will pale in comparison (especially story...). Gimmick MIGHT carry over to the next section, but that's not gaurenteed from CN's side. I say get the game to the desired length, then add gimmicks and story and everything else to the entirity of the game, once the playtime is set out.

Besides... where's everything going to grow if it's got such a small place to grow in?

I'm voting length.

"Oh nohs!" There is a three way tie. Even the tiniest push towards length (gimmick, story) would break it! Vote for length. And Jazz has a valid point. With length you can do another gimmick later. It's like building. You gotta start with a good foundation first. Big grin

-Thatnks for your support for the length party. All aboard!

I've got to say length like I voted for 1st time. Generally, length of a game is determined first so that afterwards little secrets and bonuses, and whatever can be implemented in a balanced way. Its pretty stupid to have a mini game or secret that is around the size of the actual game... hence the name "mini game".

Vote for gimmicks. Why? I'll tell you why - we are revolting. We are not going to take a length update. Like Flamer said, we did not like the last update (well Flamer didn't, I did), we e want the job redone.
Well, actually, I think it would just be funny if CN is repeatedly forced to add gimmicks to the game.

I don't think so. The gameplay (and things like gimmicks that carry on throughout the game) should be played from the start, and the plot and objectives designed in a way to easily accomodate them. Otherwise they will just seem thrown in there, like a chocobo racing game when the game didn't involve chocobos up to that point.

Gimmick Update- Using plotscripting, some unique feature would be added to Generic RPG that would be inherent to the gameplay and offer a new level of playability. It’s random, and could be anything from pet raising, item creation, or even special shops.

CN gives the impression that any added gimmick will be carried through. And of course, he asks us what we want to see anyway.

Or rather still, vote for Graphics, since it will pull much needed votes in the other catagories allowing Gimmick to win. It's almost like Voting for Ralph Nader.

So don't you want to see the gimmick go on longer? Length is winning right now, and that means that CN can expand the gimmick. It is a whole game thing, right? We did one gimmick already, and that's fine. For another analogy, it is linke an inch worm; it arches up then lays out the full length of it's body and then arches up again and lays out again. This continues and the inch worm moves forward. Like the inchworm, we must expand before we can arch up to new possibilities. XD

PS: I like Gimmicks, but remember; too much of a good thing is always a bad thing and it has been proven. Your opinion is good too. Big grin

Sorry folks, I left for a trip to Tokyo and just got back.

Now...

All votes will be carried over in new updates. Which means a vote for story improves the story for the next update and future updates, along with past updates. Same applies for all the other catagories, which means a length update would increase the Demon's story just as much as did for Hero. I'll be closing the polls tomorrow, so if anyone else needs to vote, I suggest you do it, since Length is only ahead by one vote. Your opinion can really make a difference!

Hooray! All right everyone, thanks for the votes!

Story pulls ahead of length and gimmick, which means the next update of Generic RPG has some serious fleshing out to do for the plot. Looks like Hero is going to be meeting some new neighbors, Demon's going to have to start fixing up the island that he took over, and who knows? Maybe both of them will even find themselves a sidekick or two. While the game will still "end" at the same point, story is definitly going to be adding a lot to the game.

As always, I highly encourage everyone who voted to voice that they would like to see in the story update. How about a love interest? Any great ideas for a side quests? Perhaps an extra dungeon made out of panda statues with more porn at the end? Let's hear your crazy ideas!

What's a hero without his damsel in distress in a Generic game?! There should definitely be some plot stuff about finding a princess or meeting a girl that turns out to be one. Typical "generic" stuff. WOOT! The story won!
