Oh man... memories...
Looking back, it's good to see how far the editor (and the quality of games) have come. _________________ My name is...

They sure have a high rating system. Magnus, 15%? Wow.
Heh, that does bring back memories though. RPG Online is AWSUM DOOD. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Well at Castle Paradox, the lowest you can give is a 1. Zero should really be an option. _________________ My name is...

Yeah, we really should be able to give games the lower scores that they deserve.
On-topic, I'm disappointed that the downloads don't work. |

Apparently the owners experienced a bad case of the "Wulffs" and the site tanked. Either that or they just gave up on it because they had a life to move on to. Don't take my word for it. The only OHR sites I ever visited up until late 2002 were the official Hamster Republic site, and Operation OHR (this site's direct ancestor). Though I've been using the engine for a long time, my knowledge of community happenings prior to November of 2002 is somewhat nebulous. If I mmay make a suggestion, I'd like to see a future article in OHR weekly detailing the history of the OHR community, so that our newer members can see what we've been through, and show them how lucky they are to have such a great site as Castle Paradox.
Apologies to a certain "Wulff" for slandering his name again, but you don't exactly have the best track record at keeping an OHR site up. Kudos for trying though; we'll see you plenty in whatever article gets written. |

Nah, it went down just because they didn't like me... just kidding. What I had heard was that it had been taken down because not only was real life more appealing, but people also started making demands about how the site was run.
I was around since RPG Online... I can prove it too. (Points to hype.bam which came from the newbie pack.) _________________ LJ.Art

It didn't just stop. Community interest trickled down to almost nothing. This was the latest version I could find. There were a few more months, if not more after this, only to have my own personal life take priority over the community, as many of the members of the community did at the same time. ...and don't ever compare me to Kidder. That's just plain rude.
...Inf/Aeth - Msg me on IRC. We'll talk about archiving it here.
Don't expect me back, either. I need to totally separate myself from this community otherwise I will never focus on anything I need to place value in right now. |

I was refering to the fact that it had a very steady rate of news items- nearly one a day and none with negtaive news for the site, and then suddenly they stop. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

Steve, don't worry about Fenrir comparing you to Fyre. Fenrir just doesn't know what he's talking about. |

Well I was close enough on this part.

And this was primarily due to the fact that when an OHR site opened up, it was down in 3 months on average. Compound this with the other fact that OHR magazines generally slump in their production after the 3rd issue or so, any news I got on community happens was slow. Again I'd point out that from what I gather, the OHR community was not nearly as polarized around a central "main" site as it is now.

And this is directed to Fyrewulff more than yourself. Frankly the comparison isn't accurate since Fyre has repeatedly restarted OHROtaku a few times and RPGcreations has been down seemingly since the fall of Rome, wheras to the best of my knowledge Steve hasn't. |

Before CP, the community was still rather centralized, between Zantetsuken and O:OHR. |

And before that RPG Online and Zantetsuken. Now Castle Paradox is pretty much the only OHRRPGCE option. So isn't it more centralized now?

Yes, but I was a bit sad when about 50% of the people I liked to talk too (and they were the ones I REALLY liked talking too) left after Zant fell.
