This has a point, even though it seems like a "lookatmeee" post.
How satisfied are you with the OHRRPGCE's progress over the years?
I'm talking about the engine, not the community. |

I'm very satisfied. You must not have been making games before the OHRRPGCE had shops that didn't work and only 4 maps. _________________ My name is...

It's had a lot of progress, though it has slowed down recently. Considering it could be considered near completion (you can do quite a bit in it), I can understand that James is probably focusing on killing the bugs instead of new stuff. Though there is a lot of things I would love to see implimented. _________________ But enough talk, have at you! |

Yes... I remember. Four maps. The horror.
I think the progress has been good enough. The updates may seem to take a while, but that gives you time to get used to the new features. |

I'm very satisfied with the progress, mainly because I can make any kind of game I want to make with it. |

Drizzle... hehe.
I've been using the OHR since before the over 4 map update, actually. Nobody ever pays attention to me, I've just been around. :p
In any case, I said somewhat satisfied. It's a good engine, but certain things are just not customizable enough for me. |

Look, I have seen OHRRPCE back when I was into, like Aqua. I was there to see it without all the new cool stuff it has today. I am very pleased with the way it works. Of course, there are a lot of demands for it on the "I would like to see..." Infinte Forum, but it doesn't make James progress faster. Anyway, if anyone has any complaints about it and says it completely sucks, then I would love to see them make something like OHR. Hey, I have tried, and I understand how hard it is. The main problem in making programs like OHR is the whole entire pseudocode.
What James has done is brilliant. Yes, I am impressed by the progress. The only thing that makes me angry about the OHR is the quality of sound when MIDI2BAMing midis. Lots of them become horrible and lose a lot of sound period.
OHRRPCE is a very easy-to-use program, and all those other programs are poor. |

I never got it before the 4 map update. But ever since I first recieved my copy of the maker I was quite impressed with the capabilities. And even more impressed when I saw the plotscripting code for games I downloaded once I knew there was an OHR community. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I haven't been here as long as the others, just around 2 years.
James has done a wonderful job creating OHRRPGCE, I'm inpressed.
Even tho I don't post or put up my games, I have always been reading the posts and testing other peoples games.
The only thing left for James would be to kill bugs and insering new plotscripting commands. |

You know it's sad when OHR is the most powerful tool on your Windows 3.1 Computer, and the PC still dosen't have enough memory to play .bams.
But overall great job on the progress, 4 maps .. the horror
the only thing that concerns me is when i get XP and run into all the other problems that XP users have, 98 is homely. I have had OHR for three years, but if you count the time i actually did stuff with it i'd say 1. still i like the added change hero name part to, if only there was more "user friendly" customability.
but then for some reason i keep getting reminded that for some reasons people dont like its regular battle engine, meh dunno why. _________________ ...eh? |

Very Satisfied. OHR is great for me since it has such a range of usefulness for everybody. People who have never created a game in their life can use this just fine, and there is tons of room to stretch your creativity. I mean, look at what some of you have done, its awesome. OHR is very well set-up right now and i'm surprised its not a lot more popular than it is. |

Somewhat satisfied. OHR is certainly better than most other gamemakers, but it's not totally done yet. Still, I am rather pleased with it. |

I've been around for...uh...something like 4 years, I think. A long time for me, anyhows. I didn't join the community for a long while, but finally decided to sign up to Zant -- like the day it went down, I think.
Heheh, I'm the guy who introduced Shadowiii to the OHRRPGCE. I think that alone is my highest accomplishment.
I really need to get down and make something on my own...
As for the OHRRPGCE, I am quite pleased with it. There are, of course, a few things that I wish I could change, but the number of things that I can do with it is phenominally larger than the number of things I can't do with it.
*sigh* just thinking about all the changes it's gone through over the years... |

I wish I could say that is what I have been focusing on-- actually, for the past couple months I have been focusing on things like painting my walls, reupholstering my couch, and learning to salsa dance
But despite my distractability, fixing bugs IS still my goal.
I have also been thinking about the future, and what my next game-maker is going to look like. |
