These are SOME of the songs that my brother made. Please tell me what you think. Not to mention if these links even work. ( If at first you don't succeed, try try to copy paste th link )

*That is the battle theme to most battles in Dim. Wars. Wars of the FOURTH DIMENSION! And prequil to TTLQuest actually. It comes together with TTLQuest about at the end... Yea, and the cimbols are quite agrivating. They sound ok in Bam though...*
http://www.geocities.com/taru_taurus/Music/forest1.mid
*Yea. This song is kind of a lullaby. Theme from the (mostly) quiet forests in Turtle Hollow on TTLQuest, in case yer not wondering. And it has a part in this ("renovated") version you should notice at the end... Sorry about that. but other than that...*
http://www.geocities.com/taru_taurus/Music/shopsong.mid
*And this, what I concider the grand fanaly ( Spell check ) It is the shop song that I currently am using in TTLQuest! (Sound track?)...*
What are your thoughts on those... *I cross my fingers that they work for you guys. They don't work for me... Wonder why...* _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Battle theme is a good song, but is too slow to make a good battle theme I think. It was also really short. It might make a good character theme, if it were longer. I liked the Forest one a lot, it was nice and calm. The shop song was quite good. It was a little repetetive, but it never bothered me. I think that was the best of the three. The endings seemed very abrupt, but they'd probably sound fine when looped. |

heh. I wonder how you can access it and I can't? Oh well. that's cool that it works for some people who aren't myself.
And I agree, the battle theme is very slow. I think my brother was thinking (if possible) that the song was too short so he made it slow...
Ok. I am now ready to recieve more bashing/constructive critisizm (use Iblis as a model). Now without crossing my fingers. Heh.
PS: Oh, and there are a lot more, that I am saving for later because I wish to draw the bamtastic thread out more with an active topic I think. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I like the music in the forest. It gives you the atmosphere of a forest in an RPG. I think that the shop song is repetitive, too. But they're all good.

Thanks all (two) but seriously, noone else has an opinion. My brother awaits my council. DOn't ask why he just doesn't join CP himself. He's a little lazy.
Anyway, I need your help on what else to fix. Thanks for the info. so far though. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Thanks for stating the obvious. My point wasn't that they don't work, it was that they don't work for me. I copied and pasted the links and got the "this page cannot be displayed" screen. I went into the /music directory of the webpage and physically clicked on the file and it didn't work. Must be something about the browser settings on this computer (It's not not mine, it's my brothers-- I'm far from my computer).
No harshness was intended in that first sentence, by the way. _________________ My name is...

Argh! I decided that the last post was only complimentary. This post has "da goods".
First: here is a silly little town song. (My brother's work no doubt)
http://www.geocities.com/taru_taurus/Music/TownSong.mid
Middle: This is "Glorious light", a town song. My brother and I worked on this together (although he did most of the work )
http://www.geocities.com/taru_taurus/Music/GloriousLight.mid
Last: Most certainly the longest ,this song most befits a title song, but it is well... You'll see...

Tell me what you think. It's never too late to fix any of them. Oh, and the others are still up for discussion as well. Thanks. :peaceout: _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

Finally got them working! Here goes.
First three:
Battle music is a bit slow. Speed that baby up. Though I think it would sound nice as the heroes ascend the giant grey mountain in the rain and fight the boss at the top.
Forest music is awesome. Great.
I don't like the shop theme. Too cheesy, too whiney. Cheesy is good for shops, but still, this one is a bit too much for me. Reminds me of levels in sonic the hedgehog. Not because it sounds like sonic the hedgehog music; I have no recollection of any of it really. More because it "feels" like sonic the hedgehog.
Second three:
The first two would make lousy town themes. I'd get bored pretty quickly. They're too slow and the organ/harpsicord (i think that's what they were) sounds "holier than thou". They'd make better title or cathedral/church/whatever themes. They also sound very alike, which bugs me. The last one would make a much better town theme. Something about it says "tropical island" to me. Too upbeat for a serious game's title screen. Unless the game isn't serious. _________________ My name is...

I agree with the drizzle. the first two aren't really suitable for a town. I think they should be in places that are holy, like what he posted. As for the last one, it doesn't remind me of a tropical island. It reminds me of........... something else? _________________ The man who smiles when things go wrong has thought of someone to blame it on.

Acceptable... I don't see why you guys don't think the second one isn't suited for a town. Can you explain, Drizz? Lionhart is having trouble focussing...
As for update: This is the battle song. I fixed it. Tell me what you think.

That battle song is much much better.
As for the town theme, it's too slow for a town. A town like this song would be pretty boring. It could work for a town theme if the town were really small and poor or something and had significance to a character's background. However, I think it would be better suited as something other than a town theme (title theme maybe), all things considered. _________________ My name is...
It could work for a town theme if the town were really small and poor or something and had significance to a character's background.
And that's exactly what it is.
Thanks for pointing that out. I was wondering if someone would catch on.
[brief background]
It is supposed to be a sad song for Ward, who's still searching for his family. It is a character theme more than it is a town song. His parents ran away from home while he was gone because of an "uprising" of DAL (dead among the living) and the "plague Beast" who had been spreading pestilence across their land. The sad part is, Ward finds all of his family dead and he has to fight them as DAL.
(My mother likes this song the best.) I don't know what I was thinking when I said it was A town song. Heh. I think I meant it is in Ward's house as his sad theme. It has a little hope in there too. I guess it can only play in certain parts of the game where Ward is talking, or someone is talking about Ward. That would be "spiffy".
PS: Thanks. I agree with Drizz about the battle song too. It is acceptable. I think. Still open for oppinions though. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
