Right, as for now im still not 100% sure, but the game i have in the works will be made using sphere. Mainly, because it allows a higher resoloution (I think ill use 640x480). I need a higher resouoution to fit in the frame in my custom battle engine. That, and sphere is totally customisable, and while slightly harder to use, ive decided that the OHR simply cant cope with a card duelling game.
So, heres the deal. As sphere is harder to use (Im just learning Java Script, though i have some experience in C which helps), it will take a lot longer to put out the game. That i why i would like to form a production team to make the game. I dont expect nor ask for top class team members, as i regard it as just a bit of fun.
I will do the bulk of the coding, and probably a lot of work on the story. I do need however-
*Music composer. Not urgent at all, and anyone who is better than me at making pc music (eg everyone) can apply. Preferbly have a sample tune.
*Map tile artist(s)
*Cut scene and background artists
*Card artists (Preferbly with liking and understanding of Magic:The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh!)
*Card designers (Conditions as above)
*Someone else who knows anythin about Sphere would be great.
*Story co-writer
Thats pretty much a wish list, and i would be grateful to get even one or two of the above. Remember, minimal talent needed (That is, ability around my own level or just below)
PM me or post on this thread.
A more detailed description of the game can be found here:

Moved to Announcements. This isn't about designing the game, this is about making the game. Honestly, this isn't even OHR related, so I should close it, but I've been persuaded not to. :\ _________________

Finding people who know how to work with Sphere might be a weeee bit easier to look on a website that actually has to do with Sphere. (If you know how to use IRC, irc.esper.net #sphere would be a good place to go as well)
Sephy: It uses MP3/OGG/Mods, although I hear Flik is working on adding midis (even without, it's not too hard to convert them to mp3/ogg) _________________ "Why is it when they say an adult has the mind of a Sew, they lock him up, while Sews are allowed to run free in the streets."

SDHawk: I am planning to post about it on the Sphere forums, but i posted it here because I will be doing most/all the coding. The other team members would be working on stuff like graphics/music/plot that has no connection to the Sphere engine. _________________ What cruel person decided lisp should have an s in it? |

DemocraticAnarchist, this thread is really, really lame. I mean, even excusing that you've posted in entirely the wrong place, (which I shouldn't. You know better. Just because someone with OHR experience could help you doesn't mean you should post here) you've got basically no reason to be posting this. You're not a 100% sure you'll be using the engine, you've got no demo to show off any of your coding, and worse, you've offered no reason to join your team. Why would I want to help a coder with the desire to make a Yu-Gi-Oh ripoff? This thread is closed, and don't waste my time or anyone elses like this again. If you want help with a Sphere game, take it to the Sphere forums. |
