I made a game called "Town Traveler" please let me know what you think

Uhh... okay. I will if you use proper grammar and puncuation. Oh, and you gotta stop using the devil smiley. It makes you look like an idiot when you place 3 in a row to show off your amazing power to use it.

I played it. Here are some suggestions. Your graphics aren't half bad, really. I was surprised. But as for map tiles, check out this article, particularly "Avoid the Gradient" (it's called something like that).

The battles were also very unbalanced. When most people start out with the editor (myself included) they tend to make the level 99 stats much higher than they need be. Therefore, when you level, up you get way more powerful. There's a formula floating around here somewhere that will tell you how to calculate what value a stat will be at what level, based on your values for level 0 and level 99.

You have a map where there are overhead tiled trees and you have to walk through the forest without any idea of the path. I couldn't find my way through the last part and just ended up cheating to get through.

Your last boss battle is too long. I just left something on the spacebar and let my guys beat up the bosses for about 10 minutes (I wish I were exaggerating). Also, I'm guessing there were supposed to be 3 heroes (based on the last battle). I only got 2.

Story... get one. I had no idea what was going on for the most part. Fighting poo was not really my thing (that was poo right? It was brown.. and steaming). I get that the world was pretty much destroyed but nothing seemed to happen for a reason. You just go around and travelling (hence the name, town traveller).

So basically, not that bad for a first release. But you have a lot to work on still. My advice is: playtest. Play your game. If the battles consist of you only pressing spacebar, change them. If you kill enemies in one hit, make your hero weaker. You'll learn a lot.

Eggie: He used proper grammar, unless you speak some foreign languange and couldn't grasp the intent of the guys post...... all he didn't do is capitalize "I" or use quotation marks around the title of his game... is that so bad? Last time I checked "gotta" isn't a word...

Dont take it so bad. You did ask for our opinion, and these guys are giving you an honest one. It's better than us lying telling you it was the best game ever.

Read the review. Learn from it. What did you do wrong with the game? How can you improve it? Getting angry wont help you make better games.
