I just wanted to ask if its possible to (on keypress) have a gun and fire it, having an effect on an NPC aswell... such as bullets running out, tranquiliser bullets (putting the NPC to sleep), killing off the npc...

Yes. For an okay example, take a look at Deer Hunter XTREME, which works most of the time. It doesn't have anything like stun bullets, but those can be implemented fairly easily with tag checking and if-thens in the firing scripts. The script is included in that file, too, so take a look at it.

After you destroy the npc, create a new one in the same spot ('create npc'), and optionally animate it by rotating it ('set npc direction'). Or you could make the animation appear over the npc before you destroy it. After the death of the npc, you can use 'write map block' to change the tile to leave some blood behind or something.

Or you could do it the complex way, and alter NPC the graphics of the NPC in question, change it to something like the NPC exploding into gory bits via the ID number, and then destroying it... but eh. Raspberry!

Don't inspire him! It'll only mean more work for me! Noooooo!

Neutral alright I'll make it happen.

Let me just draw up a list;

make lasers that you can pass through safely if you time it right

make enemies shootable avec blood and gore

anything else?

If I had my old NK3 script, I'd show you an example, but I'll write up a mock script here;

Code:

script, Muder that foo, begin
destroy npc (the one that's going to die)
create npc (the NPC which is the dead character's sprite,same X,same Y, ...)
end

Don't put a wait command in, just to keep it looking seamless.

Good example of this lovely gorefest would be the Littsburg attack scene in Neo Krysta III, right when Hitoku kills Kaitsu's friend.

:/

I was trying to put this thread back on topic instead of locking it for going off the trail, so if you want to persist in being a jackass, I could always do what I originally intended.
