Okay, I wrote a song, and I'm going to put music to it. The song is called "I Wish I was Irish" and its pretty much a drinking song.

The problem is, the intro just HAS to have an irish feel, so I need to write one irish riff, and I don't know how I would go about it.

Does anyone happen to know how to get the Irish Folk sound out of a guitar? Chord progressions, timing, anything you can contribute would help me greatly.

The song, lyricwise, goes as follows.

Can't see straight. let alone walk around
Parents still home, hope they dont come down

Most Irish folk music works off of a basic I-IV-V progression, nothing special. And the Irish don't drink vodka, you idiot. They drink BEER. GUINESS. GUINESS and WHISKEY.

n yea, youd havta be pretty dumb not to know th irish drinks of choice. the verses and th chorus arent that closely connected.

Back to the song, the bridge actually isn't that bad. Might be nice to know the melody, though.
