Okay. I make my program. I get ready to compile, and when I press F5, it asks for the compiler. Now, if this happened one time, I would be like, "Oh... I'll go find the compiler." Then I click on hspeak.exe. Fine. I now have a small window that has the address to the compiler. I hit F5 again, and it asks for the compiler again. I keep on having to find the compiler, but it never allows me to compile. Is their something wrong? I have XP. |

The same thing happened to me before. Did you leave a DOS window open before you went to compile? Like did you compile once, and then forgot to close the Finished window? If so, close that. This exact same thing happened to me and that's how I solved the problem. _________________ ---------------Projects----

This is a known problem in NT-based Windows operating systems. The best way to run HSpeak under these conditions is to run it from the DOS command line.
Go to Start > Run and type in "cmd" then hit enter. Navigate to the folder where HSpeak and your script are located. Then type "hspeak mysourcecode.hss mycompiledscript.hs", replacing the filenames with appropriate names. That should do it for you. _________________

It actually compiles.. it just never saves that it found it. Either you can just close the asking window each time or do what I do, and just drag and drop the HSS file onto HSPEAK. _________________

It might compile for some people, but it never compiles for me even when it doesn't save the position. It's weird. _________________

Thank you RPGCreations, because the fact that I can drag the .hss file onto Hpeak.exe. Problem is, if there is an error, the DOS window closes before I can read it. |

Hmmm. Amazing how many people don't know this.
To keep the window open in after HSpeak has terminated, right click on HSpeak.exe -->Properties --> Program , and uncheck 'Close on exit' at the bottom. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
