One day I was playing .hack//OHR and I realized that OHR has a bunch of cool features that can be used without plotscripting. I'm no slouch...ok I am a slouch but less plotscripting means longer life expectancy for BB. It was about time time I made an original game (Zelda's taking a nap after it beating) so I came up with Strike Tactics.
My friend and I used to play this game in fourth grade with gundums and we called it plutonium wars. The point of the game was to find plutonium or steal some from your neighbor(lego piece) and use it to enhance your units. That game is long dead but I always wanted to make a cool mech game. So after thinking for awhile I came up with a tactical game that uses OHR's Battle Engine.
The game puts you in the Commander's seat. You are the Captain of your Troop of four mechs, you can earn money and buy more machines to use in your growing army but you can only have 4 mechs at once (duh) and this will make the player pick mech that will best fit the mission. As the story progresses more mechs are avalible at shops because of the ever changing technology. Just like in Zelda (don't hurt me) it also depends where you buy your stuff, meaning not all shops are the same. As for the battles it won't be the usual learn awsome attack equip hyper weapon business. As for items you don't get sheilds, you get forcefields, target systems, extra gun (if the unit has a hand), and speed augmentation. The advantages & disadvantages are in the units themselves, i.e how they are built. some units are mobile and interchangable. Some are walking gunships with legs. As you go on units get better, but when you start out you have to make due with the block-like A-series.
As for the story, you'll have to play the game to find that out.

Umm, okay I have no idea if that game would be cool or what, but.
OHR can do a lot of interesting things with no plotscripting. People seem to think you gotta do something really fancy and modded to get a cool effect; when infact there's just a lot of simple things you can do, If you "think outside the box" and just use fully what's right there. |

Well, I've yet to see an OHR game with a mecha theme, so why not? _________________

Actually, this is probably the 3rd or 4th time or so I've heard someone say they were going to make a mecha game. But I don't think all those other games got anywhere. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |

I get more inspiration from robotech than mechwarrior . Robotech is the original giant robot show (that or Getter Robo). _________________ Indy OHR! and National OHR Month Contest going on now!
