Yup, that's right, I'm really going to make a real game (because Bo Hobo doesn't count)! It's a school project, so I'm a little more likely to not completely ignore it, at least. But I wanted to know what real live OHRers think I should make, out of this list (or maybe make a suggestion).
1. A game about an near-apocolyptic incident with astrology (how original) destroyinga large city and the surrounding area, and a mysterious figure (the apparent protagonist) appearing, not knowing anything about himself, and resulting in a bizarre and suprising (hopefully) ending. More story based than on interaction.
2. A different game (go figure) with a story spoofing every Dungeons and Dragons cliche and having nonsensical puzzles and solutions that, though easy to figure out, leave you without a clue on how you figured it out, or being just blatently obvious yet usually unnoticed and resulting in a loud DUH! Also note that taverns have everything.
3. Good old Project Delirium you may have heard of. Think Tim Burton's Batman meets Silent Hill, yet with a cartoony feel. Lots of sidequests, though possibly too open ended. Insane battles will help you know when to turn around, if you get lost, though.
4. A game based on some book.
5. A generic minigame based game.

What type of game do you want to make? What character types do you want to have? What do you feel like making? I would ask these questions before making a list. However, making an RPG off of a book seems like a bad idea to me. I guess it could be pulled off, but it would take great skill (like those book-movie translations.) _________________ Calehay |

Sounds kinda overdone. |

I'd suggest something comedic. Funny games are really doing well right now, and I can't get enough of them. Besides, it'll probably be easier for you to do a good funny game, than a good Actual RPG. |

Do 1 and 2 sound a little alike to you?
You might as well do 2 if you want to be interesting. However, doing 5 would be better for your development as a game designer if that's what you want. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
