Ok, this engine isn't finished, but its about half way there. Here's what it has so far:
-sword sttack script
-hero to monster damage math
-monster death script
-6 stats including:HP, MP, strength, defense,magic,agility
-use three of those:HP, strength,defnese
-a cap of 20 monsters per map

going to have:
-monsters attacking you
-use of the other three stats:Mp,Magic, agility
-Hero spells
-Monster spells.

If you want to see how to do decent enemy health damage, 7th day script is very very versital. Except you'll probably nto understand it because I'ma n awful coder, but...yeah.

perhaps a demo game to show off what that custom battle engine could do would be better?

just like james released the sample game with his script.

but, thats my suggestion.
