OK, I'm pretty upset. I lose the game because I open Bluebeard's box? That seems pretty arbitrary, especially when I apparently couldn't lose the game anywhere else. This is the kind of thing that makes me wonder if I want to play the game -- I was pretty far in and I hadn't saved at all.

The game was excellent up to this point. This was disappointing.

You can lose the game in other places, and I can only think of one person whom is at fault for not saving. Bluebeard's involvement in The Fox and the Eight Six is more true to his own story than a majority of the others who have changed in some manner, so the answer lies there.

I think what really upsets me is that the game gives no indication of being losable up to that point and gives no warning message before what seems to be an arbitrary "game over."

I'll replay the game and see what Bluebeard is about, but not until I stop fuming about this.

I guess you don't like point and click adventure games then, huh? Happy

This is more of a text adventure with graphics. Seeing as how I've played that genre for more than a decade, you'd think I'd've thought to save my game.

That would make no sense at all.. "WARNING: DOING THIS ACTION WILL RESULT IN A GAME OVER. CONTINUE? Y/N"

Um... yes, Fyre, that's exactly the kind of message I was thinking about.

What? That doesn't seem right. I thought you meant a warning message in the readme: "Save your game occasionally, as there are unexpected deaths"

Usually I am pretty good about saving often, but I played the version without saving... Because I'm a bum and didn't download it a second time for the save copy. I faced the same problem Moog. And I faced it not once but in two situations.

I'm a save freak; the only think in that game that annoyed me was a tag error(which I fixed in custom).

Heheh. Kinda makes you think of the PS2 game "Siren". God, I will never play that game simply because I'm not too keen on dying just because I made a decision instead of dying in a battle.
