This is a poll to find out what systems OHR users play games in, not create games. The results of it will be helpful to me and hopefully others for knowing what enviroments to gear 3rd party programs towards.
Thanks in advance to voters.
PS. It'll be interesting to see if anyone out there uses Windows NT 3.1/3.5x (which is a 32 bit version of the Win 3.1 GUI, so vote for Win NT)
EDIT: Changed the title to something which gives a better impression of the contents of the thread.
EDIT.P.S: RMZ, Win 98 with VDMS would be the 2nd last option, not Win 98 (changed options) _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great."

My machines I have access to are my Windows XP (Home) computer, my dad's Windows98 computer, and an old Win3.11 for Workgroups computer.
I voted for XP though. _________________

I use XP with VDMS (Fyresetting). However, I have an old Win3.1 computer somewhere in storage . . . I should find that one and fire it up, it just might run DOS programs properly. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |

Windows XP, although I've been known to run it in True DOS before on an older computer. _________________

I tried to use DosBox, but for some reason it hates me. As does my toaster, but that's a different subject all together.
Right now I'm using VDMS sound on a WinXP system....just like everyone else. _________________ You got film in my video game!

I use Windows ME, because I have heard that XP doesn't let you use the ole Alt + Printscreen for maptile sets. And I use VDMS as well. _________________ ---------------Projects----

I tend to TRY to play on Dosbox, as that is my only option on Linux... unfortunately the way that the OHR accesses the graphics card is unusual, and DosBox only supports it very slowly, so if I *seriously* want to play through a game rather than just checking out the intro and going "Ooh" I have to break out my old dusty Windows 98 box. |

Whether I use VDMS or not depends on how much it lags the game compared to how fast I need to be going in the game.
I actually just started using VDMS last night, but yeah. |

Cool. Thanks for all the support, everyone.
Wow, I'm quite surpried at the large numbers of Windows Xp and VDMS users. Not a single Win 95 person here! Well, I have to factor in people with multiple computers, me being one of them. (In which case, thanks for the individual responses)
Now I wonder if I'll ever manage to use all this data : /
PS: I never said, but I use Win Xp with VDMS. But I've never noticed any speed difference when using VDMSound. _________________ "It is so great it is insanely great." |
