I request that any game which is, or appears to be, 80% similar to another person's game be removed from the site and its creator be banned (Without the author's permission, of course).

Granted, OMFG TIZ ROXORZ isn't the most worthwile game to be defending, but it IS my creation and I will defend it to my death.

I don't know who exactly I pissed into making these terrible rip-offs of my games/movies, but it's getting on my nerves. I do hope that justice will be served this time, rather than leaving the offending game on the gamelist.

I must agree with my counterpart. I realize that my game is the zenith of OHRRPGCE perfection, but that is no excuse for it to be hacked (ie, the idea stolen then "sold") without the authors' permission. If you wish to rob another's work, please ask the original artist. Steal legally or not at all.

Well, I agree with you, JSH. Even though I have no games worth plagiarizing (yet), I would not like to see a good game taken and then made shitty. What if they replaced FFT with 3-dimensional ASCII characters (as characters you played with) and 1337 speak? How do you think squaresoft would feel?

Edit: The example above was poorly stated. I meant what if someone hacked FFT with those things and then released it like that.

Rip-offs are one thing, and then there are parodies. Recently, parodies have been done to death, so they are getting less funny. What we really need are some more serious games for a while.

Machu, this isn't about parody at all. I have nothing against parodies- in fact, I love parodies- but when someone releases a game with the SAME NAME as mine and just changes some text and stuff, I call that a hack.

Yes, blanant ripping and stealing is obviously bad. There's not much to argue there except how to punish it.

I was stating that parodies of comedy tend to be less funny than the actual comedy. God forbid we have a parody of parody. Parodies should be of serious things, as what makes most parodies funny is taking serious things in a light-hearted way.

He was probably just demonstrating against polls that are purposely biased in this way. Polls are meant to help represent more than one opinion. Without an option to select 'no', we won't know how many people actually think ripping is a good thing.
