I just wanted to say that if there are any swedes reading this (or anyone trained in the fine art of swedish language), download "Zander", a 100% swedish game.

Anyone remember Radar and Royal? The Swedes have made some pretty awesome games. They were in English, though.

I am not gifted in the fine language of Swedish. No, no, no...

I might just play this game to see how it is designed...

Well you could play it without knowing swedish but it is not the battles thatare making the game fun. Its the storyline...

We have been thinking about doing a translation but 700 text boxes is quite much...

Haha. I know what you mean. Translating 700 text boxes is exactly what I have to do with my crappy ass game as well. It's a long process, and a good idea would be to get on IRC and see if people care enough so it's worth one's time. Ha ha ha!

PS: It was a great idea to make a game in another language, but if one wants a story to be taken seriously, then one should use the audience's language. Maybe you could make subtitles. That would be very interesting.
Take care, bro.

If if you want to avoid a lot of the tediousness surrounding translating a game in the ohr, you could use the utility to convert ".say" to ."txt", from that you could use a translation programme or paste the text into one of those online translation websites. Then reconvert your new text back into ".say". I know the translation won't be perfect, but it's probably better to do some corrections than to type out the whole thing again, especially when it's something like 700 textboxes.

As for the tool, you can find it here:

That sounds good. It would make it much easier to translate, however, i have no ideaof where to find a good swedish-english translator...
But how do I use this program, now when i have downloaded it? That readme makes no sense to me.

Well, you can find a decent online translator that has swedish to english on it here:

http://intertran.tranexp.de/

As for the utility for converting text boxes, I'm afraid I can't really help you. I haven't used it yet. I seems straight-forward to use though.

Ok, I must say that translation program really sucks... At least from swedish to english.
Anyone know any better?

Here is an example of a translation from a perfectly understandable text box in swedish:

Finnigan! Yous is mans again. It was thus yourself self saws in Clause. Self must yet say that it was a of they best myrsloksshowerna self looking on long Tin you nots make the there again. Pop up and back.

Ha ha ha!

Pop up and back! It makes sense to me.

...or not. Online translators are seldom dependable. The only good way to translate it to English is by hand.

Pop up and back was originally "run back and forth".
I like "saws and Claus" too...

Belive me, translating by hand isn't easy unless you know both throughly. I tried to make a game entirly in Japanese to bug everyone. Needless to say it got too overwelming, it took me half an hour for five textboxes.
