I am proud to anounce that RpgspOt will be recreating Winterfold that can be expected next year some time.

The storyline will be some what the same...as will the constant snowy weather.

Here is a comparrison between the old and the new Winterfold.

Old:

-Remember this? Buget blood, trees, houses...

New:

-Now Look at this!...Well I think its an improvment...

I will not give away anything else towards the game you are just going to have to wait and see... Smokin'

The houses are a HUGE improvement, they look great. The snow and trees also look a better. However, the way you do the different shades of snow just looks weird. You might want to try putting some dithering inbetween the shades and making the edges less angular and griddy. The trees also look a bit odd, perhaps their trunks shouldn't be straight poles.

Yes, the houses are awesome, but it looks like Winterfold is located atop a massive quilt.

Nice. I like how the contrast is brighter now. The trees do look a little unnatural when they are perfectly straight poles, but the braches look good.

Oh, and that title screen is awsome. It definitely brings out the character of the game a lot better than the previous one does. The back ground is just black though. I think you could maybe put the silhouette of one of the bad guys there to spice it up a bit. You got some extra space after all. You can consider doing something with it, or leave it as it is, which is fine too.

Damn! Does this mean I have to get back to work on the OST? XP

Just kidding.

The houses look A LOT better, however, I would REALLY do something about those shaded tiles on the ground. Even though it's a good idea, I would recommend fading the shades into each other as opposed to have blocks of shaded ground.

Otherwise, lookin' GREAT!

To answer a few concerns here...

*The trees are not complete. NPC's are used for the branches to allow the hero to walk under them in a realistic effect. Right now they are just a basic skeleton to work with.
*The title screen is still under a few minor development changes. I like your idea leroy.

Now...
Expect some changed things in the game. I know that people loved the choosing of the Weapon Type and Spirit in the older version. But this new version is going to have some VERY neat plotscripts for all type of menu's for many different choices - Prepare to be starstruck (When you play the game, you will see the play on words in the last sentance.) (Take that as a small clue.)

*We have developed a way in making menu's in the game SPECTACULAR. People are going to be taken by suprise at first. But will probably catch on after a while on how we did them. We probably want to patent it as the "RPGSpOt Menu System" or something... If thats even possible. New code.

*We are going to try and introduce people into the game in a more suttle way. In the last game, everything was pretty much thrown into your face, but in this game its going to allow the user time to think over what he/she is doing and allows them to grasp the concepts and usage of different elements in the game at a nice pace where one shall easily understand them.
