I didn't want to post this too far from the source of this distress. Please leave it here, as it technically belongs here, as it pertains to my first posted topic here, which was invariably locked.
What has gotten out of hand? The only thing 'out of hand' is you guys. I would have tolerated a 'prove it'. To a point. And I did. I will get you screenshots, by tomorrow hopefully. But what the hell have I done wrong? PHC? I'm a bad poster? Did I post anything wrong? No. I said I have designed a game with awesome graphics. The only thing that I might have done wrong is disapoint whoever was interested by not including a screenshot. You people seem more like stuck-up children. Not getting what you want, therefore you lock the topic, Shadowiii. Nothing was getting out of hand. Nothing was wrong, except people want to ridicule me because I don't have a screenshot for them. Boo-hoo-hoo. Tell you what, I'll get you a screenshot. I will. I said I would, and I will. But lighten up. Honestly. I'm not expecting you to 'worship the ground I walk on. Flaming bloody hell, if I wanted that, I'd say, "worship me." But I haven't. So I'll get your screenshot, children. And calling me pretentious? No. I haven't been. And I haven't 'attacked' anyone Iblis. I've posted a reply to what you said, disproving and informing all your 'who's he?' 'spammer' 'prove it,prove it,prove it' stuff.
Now for the love of god, let's try to work on this. I hate people thinking I'm an idiot when I'm not, believe me I'm not. Just because I don't follow your posting etiquette precisely, I'm the bad guy here. And that is not what I want. _________________ You know, and I know, that all that I want is the red dominoe |

Uh, dude. Shadow locked your topic to keep the flames away. This really isn't helping. _________________

Okay, let's go on a little trip through that thread. Here are the first replies to your post that have gotten you so angry:
Quote: | Also, don't post an "I'M GOOD AT GRAPHICS" thread without pictures, and if your games are actually good, post them on the gamelist. |
Quote: | And I'd like to see something on this thread (graphics, examples, etc.), or else this will be closed. |
Quote: | Why do you even use passwords if there is no other record of their existance? Or is there?
You'd think that you would've thought of writing the passwords down or something... |
The first two are completely reasonable, they're just asking for a demonstration of your abilities. The third is just asking why you didn't write the passwords down. I can see how they might've seemed a little rough, but let's look at your response now:
Quote: | I can't say I'm impressed with anyone who posted a reply to this, all of these questions do have answers, and you could probably logic them out if you gave them some thought. |
Quote: | I feel like I'm trying to prove the earth is round to a bunch of primitives. |
And now this post, with such highlights as:
Quote: | You people seem more like stuck-up children. Not getting what you want, therefore you lock the topic, Shadowiii. |
It should be obvious which group contains personal attacks and which does not. _________________ Locked

ooh. Well, I guess I have to apologize to shadowiii. I didn't realize he was trying to help...
But now I posted my screenshots so take a look. (By the way, the webpage is for my troop, so that is the reason for the innane message at the top...)
So anyway... take a look. Everyone I've asked say they're very good for being edited in the engine... Beware of blur though.

Yeah, I found them blurred when I got to the library, sorry. I'll make up some excuse to come here tomorrow hopefully.
But I have to take some of my beautiful graphics statement back... While they are good... I realize that they are apparently 'run of the mill' here... In looking at the game list, while better quite a number, they were also about the same with quite a number, and not as good as quite a few. I guess I didn't know entirely what I was up against. Oh well. You win some, you lose some as they always say. _________________ You know, and I know, that all that I want is the red dominoe |

yeah, they definately aren't amazing but they aren't horribly bad (from what i can see). i just wish they weren't so blurry because then i might not think they were as bad as i think they are.

so what exactly did you see before the games here, that made you think your graphics were awesomely great? (not an attack, just a simple question) _________________

I think these are pretty good tiles for a start. The dirt (mud?) seems too blocky. I can see where the borders of each tile are. You can fix this by changing the colors around the edges, buddy. The trees (willow trees?) look like a complete mess too. Two things. a) Did you use standard tools (line tool, spray tool, etc.) to create them?, and b)They are only one tile... If the trees are for an overworld, one tile is ok. However, if they are for a dungeon, might I suggest making them MUCH bigger. Also, don't use standard tools when creating them. Hand crafting them pixel by pixel creates a much finer quality. I have no real big suggestions for most of your other tiles. That is all.
Nice web site design, btw. _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

That's definitely an interesting approach to making grass tiles (in referrence to the world map pic). It's not bad at all.
On other note, if for any reason, you have a tiff with an admin for his/her actions, please PM them or another admin to state your case rather than make a public post like the way this one started out. Just letting you know what's better to do in the future. _________________

Well, lemme see... sorry about the blur. I think you might be confusing the rocks for "dirt"... I'll upload some new pictures sometime this week methinks...
As for what did I see? Friends of mine use the engine, and none of them could draw worth a damn. I was (am) the best among them. So I dunno, I just thought I was really good.
Sorry about the "attack" crap. I guess I was a messed coming on here like that... but you did kinda scare me when I looked at the replies to my first post...
Alright, so I guess that's it for now. _________________ You know, and I know, that all that I want is the red dominoe |

well hurry up with those screen shots then, that blurryness isn't justifying anything.
and remember, no ones going to just come out and attack you here. unless of course you attack them first, use complete nonsense, spell horribly badly, or are just an idiot (which i guess three of those fall under the same subject). i believe we're all pretty civilized people here, so you should have no worries from here on. _________________

Well. Someone has learned a lesson from this whole thing. Thats good. I think you should next time give the material and allow the veiwers to do the judging. I know you have learnt your lesson, dont flame me.
They are looking nice. Although most people dont really focus much on the graphics quality more on the story and gameplay. Focus more on those aspects in your game. People here are not going to dig your game just because of the amazing graphics - it seems thats the way you are heading.
Hope the game turns out ok. _________________

If I heard you correctly, you are suggesting that people care more for story and gameplay than for graphics, am I right? _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...
