Okay!
*cracks knuckles*
I have to say that I'm not against any style of music (other than country).
Moreover, I enjoy the calmness of orchestrated music and celtic, yet on the heavy side, I like just about any heavy thing you can throw on the table. _________________

Except maybe Dimmu Borgir or Slayer or Opeth, 'cuz they're satanic, of course.
I have nothing against any one broad category of music, actually, as long as the artist isn't just in it for the money. I mainly listen to classic rock, blues, and jazz, and I play all of those, plus Celtic music. As Setu mentioned country just earlier, I must say, it really depends on the style of country. There is good country out there, it's just most of the stuff they play now has been pop-ified. Older country-style stuff isn't bad, when it's closer to bluegrass or old-time. Also, bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Allman Brothers Band are great examples of really good country-rock fusion. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |

any music is good, as long as people don't overkill the music at parties etc. (like only play that one song five times over while neglecting any other decent music that we have and can play)
i'm moving towards
metallica and rammstein _________________ If we were a pack of dogs, IM would be a grand Hound, CN would be a very ficious little pitball, and Giz...well, it doesn't matter breed he is, he'd still be a bitch

I mentioned Slayer and Dimmu and Opeth because Setu said he could take any heavy thing you could throw on the table, and he's religious. Considering that Slayer has a song where the lyrics are "I keep the Bible in a pool of blood / So that none of its lies can ever hurt me" I would think that Setu would dislike that type of band. I like them, but I'm not religious at all. _________________ UP DOWN UP DOWN LEFT LEFT RIGHT RIGHT A B START |

My favorite heavy metal band is Tool, no contest. I don't think Setu would like them much either, since they say stuff like "Get off your f*cking cross, we need the f*cking space to nail the next fool martyr" (Eulogy).
Evanescence can also be pretty heavy, with stuff like "Haunted" and "Lies." Amy Lee can do things with her voice no one else can. _________________ Locked

Seriously. Amy Lee is awesome. Which one is "Lies"? I have the CD playing right now, and don't remember that song anywhere... Could you be thinking of "Everybody's Fool"?
Anyway, "Going Under" and "Tourniquet" (actually the first Evenescence song I ever heard, not "Bring Me To Life" like the rest of you yuppies ) are pretty hard, too. "Imaginary"'s still my favorite, though.
Chasing Furies is cool 'cos they have an awesome female vocalist, too. I liked Evanescence 'cos they reminded me of these guys, except a lot harder. |

Lies isn't on the "Fallen" album. It's one of their earlier works. I think the CD is called "Origin" or something.
Evanescence songs you need to hear that aren't on "Fallen"
Lies
Fields of Innocence
Anywhere
Where Will You Go

Oh, okay. I'll have to check those out some time, but I don't know when I'll be ever able to, except when I actually get a computer. |

A friend just burned me a copy of an "At the Drive-In" cd. It's called "The Relationship of Power," and it's fucking awesome. It's like a really emotional hard-rock. I hesitate to use a lame term like "emo-core," since that makes the band sound lame, but I guess you could call it that too. Anyway, you guys should check it out; it rocks my face off
I've also been listening the crap out of the Darkest Hour and Norma Jean cds I just picked up. Whoever likes metal should check these guys out, they also have a great deal of face-rocking skills.
(Slayer kicks ass! Also, Tool) |
