I haven't used the OHRRPGCE for a long time, but today I tried to log in to edit my game, and I forgot my password! I've tried every password I could think of, but nothing seems to work. Could someone help me? _________________ In no way am I associated with Thunderfalcon.com. I just picked a name, started making a game, and made my email address. THEN I typed it into Google... |

Now, I am not entirely sure how to get a password back after it's been lost for a while. I thought I heard that there was a way. I'd check here -> http://gilgamesh.hamsterrepublic.com/wiki/ohrrpgce/index.php/I_forgot_my_password%21_What_do_I_do%3F
If you can, just start completely over. That I highly recommend. Trying to continue an old OHR project is foolhearty. You can't get any better if you go back to preschool, so to say. Starting over might wield better results. Second or even third time is the charm.
And using a password is a generally irksome thing to do in the first place (Write it down and risk someone finding it, or don't write it down and risk losing it). For an OHR project (that probably will never go commercial), I'd say don't risk it. If someone has the free time to download your game and mess around with it, let the dunderhead do that. He'll get in trouble if he tries to release it. If your little brother wants to fuck with it, all the power to him. It's only an OHR project. Anyone can fix the problem or start over. I find starting fresh to be very litterally liberating. That's just my two cents... _________________ Planning Project Blood Summons, an MMORPG which will incinerate all of the others with it's sheer brilliance...

I'd rather not have people going in the rpg and making themselves start at level 99 or whatever. That's justpersonal preference. I'm sure some people don't care.
But yeah, you should always leave an unpassworded (word?) copy. I would recommend using a password only upon release. Of course, if you have the little brother problem I guess you just have to take your chances. =/
As for your rpg, I'm sorry to hear that. That's about as bad as when I deleted my plotscripting file to one of my rpgs. It was like thousands of lines of code. =/ Oh yeah, always make back-ups, too. =) |

I can help you, I have customized copies of Custom and Unlump which are... er... "security un-enhanced". However, before I'll unlock your game for you, I'll ask some questions only the designer would know:
1. What's the level 99 Attack of the first hero?
2. Which bitsets are turned off?
3. Name of the last defined monster?
Oh, and I guess I'd need a copy of your game. _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

The designer may not know that if it's been a few years. If the title screen has his name on it, though, it's probably his game. _________________

unfortunately, I can't send it to you, because I'm on vacation, and my rpg file is way back at home. I won't be back until late in July, so I'll pm you when I can send it.
Thanks anyway! _________________ In no way am I associated with Thunderfalcon.com. I just picked a name, started making a game, and made my email address. THEN I typed it into Google... |
