I'm going to hold a contest, starting on weekend of the 13th and 14th of August, after the 48hr contest is over.

It will be called the relay contest and the rules will be thus;

1. There will be a specific subject (You will be notified of it at the start of the competition).
2. You must notify me if you want to enter. Before Friday the 12th. If you do not then it will not work.
3. Before the contest begins I will arrange the teams randomly.
4. When the contest begins you must begin to make a game, you will have 24 hours to work on it before you must send it to me.
5. On the following weekend I will send the game to your teammate, who will have 24 hours to work on it before sending it back to me
6. The weekend after that I will send the game back to the original Author who will have a furthur 24 hours to complete it.
7. You will then have to post your completed game for download and the general Castle Paradox public will have a week to vote for their favourite.

If anyone is unclear on any part of the rules please don't hesitate to post.
If you have any ideas to improve it or comments at all you may post
If there isn't enough support for the contest it will not be held

There is no prize so far but I am thiking hard on it (help here would be appreciated)

EDIT: please vote in the poll for wheter you think it would be best to have 2 grades or not.

What if the work between the two authors is vastly uneven. One of them would be screwed over. And then there are possibilities of 2 good authors against 2 bad ones. So at the start you know there isnt an even chance/odds among the participants and not based solely on skill.

Gamble gamble!

Hmm. a good question.
Maybe if theres two different categories, say, you enter one if your good and the other if you aren't so great.
If you were good and entered the worse one then you would be disqualified, and if you entered the higher grade when you weren't good enough then you would be partnered with someone from the lower grade instead just getting a great author to make your game for you.

How does that sound?

if anyone else can tackle this problem in a better way please, by all means, voice your idea.

We should also post a link to the DL to make sure that we at least get votes.
And, yes, I am entering.

That's really really subjective of you. How do you judge whether or not someone's good?
The random team choosing was a bad idea from the start; just let everyone choose their own teammates beforehand! If you can't find a teammate, just post here and maybe someone would decide to join you.

There's already been a contest similar to this, but it failed because not all of the entrants were actually there to work on the game at the right times. Good luck.

I don't see why it has to be even. In a regular contest it's not like everyone is at the same skill level.

Plus that's the point of this one. You have to work together and rely on the rest of your team. Yeah you might get stuck with someone who isn't nearly as good as you are, but that just means you'll have to make your part even better.

I dunno, I think it sounds good the way it is.

I had planned to let people judge their own skill level, people may dispute their decision if they have any qualms about it.

If you want you can request your teammates beforehand, but then who would know if you were working together the whole way or not?

Also if someone wished to raise argument to certain pre-comp team selections the will be free to do so and if they have a valid argument that team wouldn't be together.

I think name-in-hat teams would be the best.

I would join too, if I wasn't so busy with other things. Good luck with this, Hireinteligence. Smokin'

Maybe interesting, but not necessarily the best way.
