My album is finally complete. Since it will be sold soon (if it works out), I'll leave it up downloadable until the end of the month.

In track 9, Stanza, my friend Brian (Chaz VanLanden) and I are singing that one; Brian doing lead vocals and me harmonizing/screaming. I also let him write the lyrics to that one as well.

Enjoy, and feedback/suggestions are appreciated.

Things I liked about it
The chord progressions had a nice, fluid rhythm
Some of the melodies, like that "beep-boop" riff in Better Off
The screaming was well done and added a lot
    The piano was nice
Things I didn't like about it
The electronic voice was okay in #2, it seemed, but in the other songs it got really annoying after awhile
The guitar soloes were horribly mechanical sounding
The drum rolls were weak and badly placed. They seemed to trip over the song rather than carry it
Vocals in Deceived (I liked the actual singing, but...) sounded really muffled
As a whole, I enjoyed the album, but I think there are a lot of things that need to be ironed out. You can do much better.

Okay, now to fill in the blanks with this:

1) I know a female vocalist who I'm trying to convince to lay down her own vocals so Miriam (the VOCALOID) can be trashed,

2) As far as my own vocals are concerned, I was very wishy-washy with whether or not to do my own vocals because it's hard to make it sound good when you are mixing down professional quality 24-bit sound with a vocal track recorded with a $10 Wal-Mart microphone added to it (though in Stanza, which was recorded at Brian's house, had a better sound output to it).

3) You're right. I can do better. Unfortunately, though, the only thing that's keeping me from doing better is simply a lack of resources. I'm just trying to make the best of the bit that I have.

I've only listened to a few of them, due to the slow download time, but from what I've heard, I like. And definitely, do all that you can do to get rid of Miriam; it's most likely you wouldn't go far with a fake voice in your band.

Teka (pixiestick) -- Good to hear from you again. I thought everybody at CCWC was hoping I would just fade into oblivion (or at least that was the impression I was left with with the manner in which they ran me out and don't even respond to my "Hey, how you doing-I'm doing fine" e-mails). Thanks for the encouragement.

Jack -- The solution is underway. Listen to the new Emergency Exit song "A Pikey Reaction", where I and my friend Brian did the vocals on his computer instead of mine. I feel that the closest I will get to not having to fork over almost $2000 in studio equipment for vocals is by just doing them at his house, where the vocal quality comes out much more clear. That may and probably will work so I can phase Miriam out (at least on future projects. I can't just nix her from the Exiled or that would just seem weird, since she's officially engraved in its image).
