Code: | C:\windows\system32\autoexec.net. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. |
For some reason when I try to run custom, game, or hamsterspeak this happens. I know it's not a direct OHR problem and more of a computer problem, but does anyone have any ideas? I have no problems when running other programs at all. _________________

This error will appear whenever you try to run anything that uses DOS. You've picked up a virus from somewhere. Don't worry, it's not harmful, just annoying. To fix it, follow these steps (I assume you are using WinXP)
1. In your Windows directory, locate the file 'Repair'.
2. Copy Autoexec.net (Copy, don't cut)
3. Locate 'System23' in your windows file and paste it in there.
There you go. The virus may delete Autoexec.net every now and again, however it usually goes away after it's done it 9 or 10 times. If it does delete it again, just follow these steps agian. If you are not using windows XP, use the search tool to find the backup. It's there somewhere.
Hope that solves your problem. |

Thanks a lot, it worked just fine; now I can get back to work. But is there anyway to just get rid of the virus altogether? _________________

You can find free virus scanner programs online. I use AntiVir 'file walker', it does what its told, no complaints. Another good one is Ad-Aware, though it is spyware removal and not so much virus removal. |

You can also try Spybot - Search & Destroy. It picks up some virus's, as well as a lot of spyware/adware. Another free program.
