This is Martino B. Creator of the mediocre game, Super Mario & Friends Adventure. I abandon my old username and made a new one. I need some suggestions about what to change on Super Mario & Friends Adventure. Tell my the cons and pros, so I can make a better and more efficient game.

Edit (Inferior Minion): The game he's referring to: http://www.castleparadox.com/gamelist-display.php?game=419

A few suggestions:

The dialogue doesn't feel that much like the characters originally created by Nintendo. Unless you are making a parody (which I assumed you weren't) this is a very important aspect. (But this suggestion makes one of the characters worthless, as DK doesn't talk.)

Make some jumping puzzles (It is Mario after all)

PLEASE put save points in the game. I remember spending hours trying to get through the demo.

In the first level, I would add a few different puzzles to the mix. Most of them are "don't let the guards see you." While it was fun to get past that, it got a bit repetive and annoying.

Your graphics were pretty good for the style of game you're doing.

Make your other party members worthwhile. There's no real reason to pick up Yoshi and DK except that they're your friends.

Maybe a continue system? That might make the game a bit frustrating, though.

This may be a bit advanced, but, maybe some platforming sequences might make the game enjoyable. (Kind of like Mario's Time Machine or Mario is Missing where puzzle elements were mixed with platforming elements. Not in the exact way they used them, of course, but something with the same idea in mind.)

Many more cameos from the Mario World.

Maybe a new storyline (Think on the lines of Super Mario RPG, and how it
wasn't the rehash of "Mario Save the Princess" all over again.)

It's been about a month since I played it, so I may be thinking on the wrong lines, but I hope my suggestions are helpful.

Thanks, Calehay. Two of your suggestions seen a bit advance for me to do. I would use The Games Factory for these type of programming. But I think Castle Paradox wouldn't accept it Oookay.... But I think with the right help, maybe it can work. I definitely know to add some save points since it really sucks when you get caught and have to start the whole level over again. DK can talk, but only say like one word like "Okay!" or "Alright!" but in most of his conversation he speaks like a gorrila. Sometimes when DK talks, they use panthereses "( )" to translate what DK say if you understand. Cameos of Mario's world will be added. And the storyline has nothing to do with the princess, but maybe I should change some parts of the story. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Happy

To be honest, I was disappointed by the game. The "escape from the NPCs" bit is okay gameplay-wise, but it gets tedious quickly. Adding minigames or battles would increase the variety in the game nicely.

The graphics are very good with one exception: Mario's nose. Fix that and your game looks nice.

There is no story to speak of. Why is Mario in the Koopa prison? Why can't he pummel his way through like he's done in all of his games? Why can't Yoshi eat the guards, for that matter?

You might consider spacing things out a bit, too. For example, maybe Yoshi can eat the guards -- but you don't find him until later on.
