either buy an expensive piece of software (which isn't worth it) or transcribe it manually. |

NEVER ever trust those MP3 to MID programs. They are the spawn of evil. Just brush up on your theory and take multiple deep-zoning listens to it. I suggest going for the bass progression first, since that lays a nice foundation to hear other things even more clearly, and, frankly, it's the most important part of the music right past the recognizable melody.
I suggest doing something simple before you go on to something more difficult. _________________ Calehay |

Oh. You weren't joking.
Perhaps some sucker has already done the work for you. Try googling "<song name> midi". _________________ I stand corrected. No rivers ran blood today. At least, none that were caused by us.

MP3 format is a compressed WAV file. WAV is just a raw sound recording, measured in its frequency waveform. MIDI is simply a computer message of notation.
To put it in illustration, MIDI would be the same as you typing a paper in Word of Notepad, whereas WAV and MP3 are like a scanned page of writing. They're both the same kind of thing, but so very different in the format.
So, what I'm leading up to is, unless someone figures out a way, then it's virtually impossible to backtrack like that. _________________
